A hunch old figure wobbles in cane in hand, "Heres a fun game for us old timers," The old man coughs a wet wheezy cough, "and For all y'all whippersnappers this could be a fun history lesson on egg cave, haha."---How it works: You start your sentence with; "Back in my day _____" then fill in a blank with an event/thing eggcave once did.Example: "Back in my day, there were only 2 cave cash shop creatures available a month."--There can be repeating from back in my days from other users, as long as there isn't one on the most recent page. So you can't say "Back in my day, there were only 2 cave cash shop creatures, available a month." on page 1, but once page 2 exists you can repeat it, if it was during your time. 😋or if someone said something on page 2 you can repeat it on page 7. (if we get there, haha.)-----I'll start! Back in my day, there were only 2 cave cash shop creatures available a month.

Shuffles in and adjusts my glasses (No seriously, when I started here I didn't need glasses)Back in my day Double Feed Day was on the 15th of each month.

I'm just coming up on my 3rd year anniversary here, so not *that* much of an old timer, but what I immediately thought when I saw this thread:Back in my day the Monthly Challenge didn't exist and there was no way to earn free CaveCash every month!
valorieviolet • 27 March 2025 at 2:06 AM
Back in my day you couldn't leave unwanted eggs at the Cave ☹️

leans in and lowers voice for dramatic effectback in my day, cove lists weren't a thing yet and for feed lists you had to begin from linking one creature and then manually linking the next one in the description and so forth onwards 😂
fainne_24 • 27 March 2025 at 2:47 AM
Back in my day the site trivia used to be much harder - I even needed to use Google to search for answers 😊
lia • 27 March 2025 at 3:55 AM
sets down my walking cane..back in my day creatures were immortal at level 2000!

(spontaneously grows massive grey beard)Back in my day, the "overnight cave method" was a thing - approach eggs until you find the creature you want, then leave your computer on overnight until site reset happened. After that, steal the egg once you had ten attempts again....Or something like that. That's probably wrong.(beard disappears in a puff of smoke)

*All joints snap crackle and pop*Back in my day we didn't have these newfangled things called "quests" or a Vending machine for creatures. Oh how the times have changed.
noman15 • 27 March 2025 at 9:56 AM
Back in my day the jester was invisible when it hatched. (This was the first April fools prank.)
Orderedchaos • 27 March 2025 at 10:00 AM
Back in my day you couldn't see what creature you were getting from the cave until after you stole it.

Back in my day finley's flavours did not exist 🤠🍦

applegranny • 27 March 2025 at 6:02 PM
Oh, you youngsters!Back in my day, the Baistay was a completely different critter!

*squints in myopia*back in my day, we didn’t have the newfangled “Trade Center”. If you wanted to trade with your friends, you had to make sure both of you were online, drop your creatures in the ADOPTION CENTER, and refresh like crazy to find your trade because back then the AC was always much more full too.
sandara • 27 March 2025 at 8:53 PM
Back in my day, there were no way to transfer creatures, only trade.

*shuffles in on a walker*Back in my day, when creatures died—they stayed dead! There was no LOV and if you knew you'd be unable to feed for a while you had to send your creatures to a trusted friend to "babysit." Kids these days have it too easy! *shuffles back out*

*sways in a rocking chair while knitting a yeep-colored scarf*Back in my day....Egg Cave was entirely green. Green like moss, green like a forest, green like the nasty fungus growing on your dirty aquarium glass.
chaotictreat • 28 March 2025 at 6:05 PM
*looks up from the newspaper, adjusting glasses*Back in my day, you didn't get to pick what creature you got from the VEND machine, there were "pools" and you had to get lucky. (Hence my perukey called plsbeleyma...)

creakily back in my day, the emojis wore a different skin!
minnie298a • 30 March 2025 at 12:48 AM
Back in my day, Tim was still getting his permits together before he could offer his feeding services. (I will admit, I don't actually remember his shop opening, but went searching through the old blogs for something else and found the announcement for the opening of Tim's Food Shoppe. It's always stuck in my mind since, as my account was less that a week old at the time.)

Back in my day, the Halloween fair was a plot. The muckle, pupkin and idola archive entries still reflect this.
chihiro_sang • 6 April 2025 at 12:04 AM
Back in my day, name changes for creatures in your cove were capped at 10 a month.
