With Egg Cave pressing nearly 1,000 creatures (almost!), it's time for an update to Coves. All players who currently have less than 500 Cove spaces have been upgraded to 500 Cove spaces—minimum! This is the new, default Cove space amount for all registered players.
The way that Cove space costs are calculated have also changed. Your new upgrade cost for buying a Cove space is now based on the new default of 500 spaces. This is, in essence, a price adjustment for the cost of upgrade. Enjoy the discount if you're already beyond 500 spaces. New spaces are now cheaper for you than what you were paying previously.

The VEND Machine is a new label listed in the Archives under Obtained From. See all creatures that could be obtained from The VEND Machine (past and present) by clicking this label here.

EGGCAVE IS AWESOME!! You staff are just so on the ball, I can't believe this. Thank you for listening to users and being so open to suggestions! With 500 default spaces, I'm now well under the default in all but one of my accounts, so excited I won't have to buy space for awhile!

@nkiay they can come back at the VEND Machine at any time, but it's not a guarantee

It's nice, but being someone that have 600 cove spaces, what bonus do I get ? Because I spent something like 1 million for those extra 300 ... and as someone barely clicking, it's a huge amount thrown away for nothing...

@pet_cemetery I’m sorry! I hope this helps you to get an even bigger Cove since beyond 500 is now cheaper. Basically 500 to 700 now is the same as what 300 to 500 was.

@Ian what is the actual % of reduction tho ? It's been so long I stayed without buying new space (cuz cost too much) that I honestly do not know how much I'm winning (it's a little more than 20K a space for me now)

@ian I suppose so. Is there anyway you can make it where you can buy more than one cove space at a time. Like let's say you want one hundred more spaces, it's really tedious to click- page reloads- all one hundred times. Is there anyway we could buy x amount all at once?

@pet_cemetery @sparklefox same, lol. The discount barely touches my largest cove, but it at least provides relief for newer players/newer coves. And more ways to sort creatures (vend) is always a plus. Now if only we could get a quest for Bean Sack... lol

@raitonchidori I wish that those of us that spent all that EC to expand already, would at least get that much added on to the 500 minimum. So whatever we had before the new minimum + 200 cove spaces (300 was the previous min, right?)

I can kinda see why some may be upset about "losing" the EC they spent on spaces, but is it really that big a deal? I spent quite a bit on extra spaces myself, but I don't miss the EC, it's not like it's hard to earn. The system is meant to be a sort of EC sink anyway. *shrug*

Hmm, happened to be 10 away (490 creatures total) from that new limit... This is a welcome change though! Kind of funny seeing the cost go from ~35,000ec to 200, haha

@pipkitten Ec may not be 'hard to earn', but the sheer amount you need for upgrades with a large cove really does add up. Personally, I'm here too much and can easily clear 500kec a day from feeding, but for people who actually have jobs/school/etc it may take much longer.
