A blur of black darted among the tall buildings, ran along the empty streets... tried to hide. Pants and wheezes filled the midnight silence every once in a while as the stranger struggled to take a decent breath and fill his exhausted lungs with air. His arms and legs felt like dead meat in addition to his whole body screaming for rest, but he clutched the small device to his chest and continued running.
The distant yells and mechanical voices of the Chitauri now got louder and louder as they advanced on him. He whimpered quietly, forcing himself to run faster but to no avail.

Seconds later, he found himself surrounded by seven hell-born beasts that snarled at him viciously. He didn't even have the time to scream of agony as all seven of the creatures lunged at him, clawing every bit of exposed flesh with their sharp claws. He felt his own blood run dry and made one last attempt to save his life. Raising the device, he quickly brought it down on the head of one creature, causing it to screech in pain. The reaction was blood curdling... a few screams and pleads later, the man's arm, along with the device, lay forgotten in a gutter nearby as the beasts dragged his twisted and battered body away.

The icy fingers of the hand still clutched the precious device tightly. A small, almost unnoticeable sign marked the piece of tech. "Tony Stark" The name was engraved into the left side of the device's screen with light grey letters that shone in the rays of the arriving dawn.

Plot:
It was in year 2020 that all hope diminished. The Avengers, the mighty warriors, each and every one of them, fell under the captivity of a dictator. All the once proud superheros could not withstand the power of evil. Even the ever-powerfull god of thunder - Thor, was banished form the lands and now Earth has a new ruler, Loki Laufeyson, who conquered the seven continents and created a new order...
It was the start of another era. One of slavery, death and pain beyond imagination. Hordes of Chitauri, the horrifying army of the Demigod, roamed the lands and brought terror and fear amongst humanity.

Now, hope is reborn in the face of new heroes. A small group of teens, raised in slavery and poverty, rise to fight against Emperor Loki and bring peace to the land again. You are one of the chosen, a soon-to-be hero and possibly the saviour of this Earth.

As the heroes begin to arisen, another, smaller group of heroes is formed. They agree with Emperor Loki's rule and have vowed to protect him and bring the Rebellion down.

The choice is yours to make, join Loki and rule this world of lost hopes or rebel against the Emperor and fight to the end.

Name: Aizel Kay L Tylk
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Powers/Armor/Suit(?): She can control fire to some extent and is also capable of fiddling with the it to create certain objects and animals shaped from flames. She has no armour or suit whatsoever. She only wears old tattered clothing.
Side(Loki's or Avengers): Avengers
Personality: Rude and unmannered, results of her past, she tends to pick fights quite often and is infamous of her short temper. In general, she can be a pleasant person to talk to but that happens only if she is a good mood (which is a rarity in itself). Due to her growing up in poverty, she has a synical view of life and dry, sarcastic humour.
Appearance: Petite and athletic with a hint of muscle. Tanned skin and piercing inky black eyes. Shoulder lenght coal black hair and bangs of the same colour.
History: Born by a lonesome human mother that she soon ran away from, she grew up in poverty and slavery but has steadily learned to deal with the hardship of life. She is a street fighter and often seeks to annoy and bother the Chitauri.
Other(?): She is an asthmatic.

Name: Sylvia Laufeyson
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Powers: Sylvia has the ability to shape-shift into certain animals and can speak to people through her mind, as well as casting illusions that could fool almost everyone. Of course, she has the ability to teleport from place to place with ease, although when she's tired she can end up in an entirely different place.
(Her powers are based off of Loki's)
Side: Loki
Personality: It honestly depends. Usually, the girl would be rather cold and despicable taking greatly after her father. However, if she manages to meet anyone she likes or finds fascinating, she might be a bit kinder. There is no point in killing an object of fascination. However much she takes after Loki, she has her faults. Easy to anger, and extremely violent; she will not hesitate to destroy someone at will if they become an irritation.
Appearance: She has wavy, elbow length black hair and long bangs that covers one of her eyes. Her skin is pale, and she has dark green eyes.
History: Very Mysterious. You may find out later.
Other: She is Loki's daughter and enjoys visiting the slaving fields to watch the humans suffer. Sylvia is a demigod.

Name: Margaret "Margot" Gaudet
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Powers/Armor/Suit: Boots and gloves with electronically enhanced traction for wall climbing and similar abilities. Electrically outfitted gloves with taser-like capabilities. Heat vision goggles. (Heat vision like thermal/night vision, NOT like shooting laser beams.)
Side: Avengers
Personality: Margot is best described as a little rough around the edges. While fundamentally good-natured with a strong sense of justice and morality, she has a cruel streak and angry, brooding tendencies. She is easily irritated by unintelligent or superficial people and unabashedly thinks of herself as "better than them." This superior mindset often crosses over into blatant arrogance. However, she has some bite to match her bark. Margot possesses an extremely high level of native intelligence, particularly in the fields of mathematics, science, and technological engineering. She is a gifted problem-solver, even under high-stress circumstances. She's fairly good with people though is hesitant to welcome people completely into her life. She tends to be fairly private about her personal life and after loud, crowded affairs, she'll try and seek some quiet alone time. She's very expressive both in word and facial expression.

Appearance: Long, dark brown hair hair in tight, frizzy curls. Brown eyes, with deep dark circles underneath from lack of sleep. Dark complexion. About 5'7" with a solid, athletic build.
History: Margot was born during the fall of the Avengers, and every memory she possesses is marked by the reign of Loki. Her parents were well-educated middle class citizens, and while they lost their property, professions, and money, they still retained many of their books. As a child Margot was taught math, science, forensics (speech), technology, and even a little Spanish from the neighbor kids. When she became old enough for work, she was transferred to a factory in Midtown Manhattan that produced electronic interfaces for the Chitauri hovercrafts. She still works there now, although she spends much of her free time (most of which is at night) exploring the ruined city and stealing scrap metal for projects and experiments.
Other: Pronunciation note: the t in Margot is silent. Mar rhymes with car, got rhymes with toe. Mar-go(t). It's French (I think.)

Pyra
Female
13
Powers Her hands are really hot, so she normally wears gloves so she doesn't burn anyone. For some reason the heat never hurts the gloves. When she gets mad or scared, flames erupt from them, normally burning everything they touch (except for clothes), and her hands only stop burning once she's cooled down. Her whole body could light up if she wanted, but its too destructive.
Avengers
Pyra is a friendly, but cautious person, and it takes some time for her to trust. She was once very friendly, tended to prefer to stick to the rules, and go with what anyone would say. Since she ran away, it changed. She is very cautious, and hates Loki, but she know there must be some reason he's evil.
Pyra has medium brown hair, and tan skin. She is slightly small for her age, but still can't be mistaken as someone younger. She has an alert stature, which can also be called twitchy. Most of the time, she wears what she gets and goes with it. She always has gloves or something on her hands, and if not, she's washing them.
She was raised by a single adult, for a long time, because her parents were taken away as slaves. Back then, she never knew about her power, which she had since she was born, because she never went around to using it. She never thought about rebellion. She knew it would mean terrible hardship that she couldn't endure. That was, until her caretaker was killed for sport by Loki's minions. She burned down the house/shed they were in and fled into the woods.

Name: Angelina Hope
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Powers/Armor/Suit(?): Illusions.
Side(Loki's or Avengers): Loki
Personality: She loves betrayal and she's pretty violent. Angelina can be nice ? only to her allies. Even though fighting is one of her strengths, Angelina cannot win a verbal argument. She cannot express herself clearly when she gets angry and ends up cursing instead.
Appearance: She has long, straight brown hair; with a few natural blonde highlights. Her eye lashes are quite long and she has sky blue eyes. There is a scar on her left cheek that has never healed completely. Angelina wears a black t-shirt that says, 'DEATH' in dripped red letters.
History: Her family is quite poor. She spent any months starving. Her half-brother, Jasper had mysteriously disappeared. Angelina had figured tht if she helps Loki, then maybe her family won't be so poor anymore. Her parents died of pneumonia and now she lives with her snappy aunt.
Other(?): Unlike Jasper, she loves bunnies.

Sylvia slowly walked down the long hallway of her father's castle-like home. An slender black sword hung in a gray sheath by her left side. A small group of guard chitauris strolled down the hallway with their mechanical body parts and skeletal heads gleaming in the dull noon light. They examined the hallway for any intruders, before continuing on their journey throughout the house and yards. It was their last shift, and Sylvia could tell they were impatient to get out. The night guards would arrive soon and resume the duties. Sylvia tilted her head to the side and gave them a quick nod, before quickly opening the front doors that led outside.

Large metal gates were a few minutes walk away from the door, and Sylvia pushed them open. Immediately, she started the short walk to the dirty, poverty-filled streets that those puny humans lived in. The sun was beginning to set, and stars started to dot the dark night skies of earth. Many troops of Chitauri still kept constant watch on all the cities, streets and other human settlements for unusual behaviour or any signs of rebellion. Nothing so far had gone amiss, except for one slave who had been beaten to death after missing work.

A slight, almost careless yawn escaped her mouth as she scanned the streets to make sure the humans did what they were told. She had not gotten enough sleep last night, so she was drowsy even this early in the night. Nevertheless, she started to walk down the streets to check up on the puny humans.

The slithering sound of metal broke the silence of the infant night. Balancing with her shoulder against a crumbling brick building, the young woman held the faded yellow tape measure up against the bottom of her shoe. "Twenty-five," she mouthed silently, and released the instrument. The narrow metal sheet snapped back like a turtle retreating into its shell.

The young woman drew in a quick breath, checking over both shoulders for any approaching guards. The tape measure was plunged back into the satchel at her hip. She held this breath for an agonizing moment, straining to hear any more than the ringing within her ears. When she was sure of the silence, she strode rapidly out into the middle of the street, and matched the heel of her right boot exactly perpendicular to the yellow lane barrier.

Silently, she swung her other leg around so that the heel of her left boot touched the toe of her front. "Two," the young woman mouthed, before shifting her right foot directly in front of her left. "Three." She counted her way across the street and into the overgrown courtyard of the building from which she'd started, marking her end point with an X traced into the dirt. "Eighteen," she breathed with finality, placing her hands on her hips. "So four-fifty centimeters." -c

Every Thursday at 4:55 in the morning (give or take a few minutes), a Chitauri hovercraft came down this road at roughly 45 miles per hour at an elevation of about 60 cm. This hovercraft contained a food shipment bound for the kitchens of the emperor's castle--though this week's shipment was destined, Margot would argue, for the stomachs of the factory's workers.

She had been thinking a lot about destiny as of late. It couldn't have been chance that led her to an old blueprint for thermal sensor goggles; she was the only one of her peers who could have made any use of it, after all. It didn't strike her as mere coincidence that she had not yet been discovered on one of her midnight outings. And the fact that she had been transferred so close to Loki, so close to the old Avengers' base, could not be overlooked. No, there was some purpose she was meant to serve, and Margot felt as though she was very near to discovering it. Until then, she would satisfy herself by building devices to steal food. It was a humble start.

With a tight sigh, she checked the street again, and then bounded off into the jungle of decaying skyscrapers. Tonight's goal was to obtain flat-head wood screws, and return to her boarding house by 3:00 (the next shift change for the guards). -c

Midtown Manhattan was rough terrain. The asphalt roads were cracked and corrupted, dotted by the shells of dead automobiles. The sidewalks and parks were littered with debris from long-forgotten battles: chunks of concrete, fallen electrical wires, scraps of rusted metal. On top of all this, it was completely unlit. Loki had had cut power to the abandoned area long ago. Of course, heat vision goggles made things quite a bit easier, and so did several years' experience of scouting. Margot moved quickly, searching for a high-rise building with a broken ground-floor window. Later in the night, she could afford to do some damage of her own; however, when straggler guards were more likely to be about, silence was of the essence.

Suddenly, way down the road, Margot caught a glimpse of red--another living thing. She ducked behind an old cargo truck, forcing herself to take slow, shallow, quiet breaths. Whoever it was, they probably hadn't seen her . . .

Sylvia glanced around the ruined streets, sweeping her gaze from building to building, and from house to house. It was already pretty dark out, and a pale slit of the moon shone through the puffy gray clouds. She scanned the dirty roads, examining them for anything unusual. A slight noise caught her attention. It seemed to be coming from around the place where an old cargo truck was placed.

Sylvia trained her eyes on the truck for a while, listening for any noise that could indicate anything. Suddenly, she shrugged and continued on her way down the street. It was probably a rat or mouse. Maybe it was even a cat or dog. Although she felt the presense of a human being, she decided against checking if it could have been anything else. Her lack of sleep was causing her to be a bit to careless and she was feeling sluggish and lazy. Though she kept her hand on the hilt of her sword just in case.

Sylvia stepped into a patch of cold moonlight and paused for a few seconds to fix her hair and clothing. Again the feeling of another presense. She bit her lip and shrugged it off. She wasn't in a mood for a confrontation, and if it was a human they would know it would be best to run. Looking around, she found that there wasn't an Chitauri or anything familiar in sight. There were always at least a few to keep watch, but maybe today they had a mission or so to check on something.

Never had she ever been out so late, for she was used to being warned about rebellious humans attempting to attack. "Whatever...", she muttered to herself. "It's not like they could hurt me to much... " She straightened up before slowly starting to walk forward again.

Form:
Name: Rayner Lee (Solaris)
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Powers/Armor/Suit(?): He's a very fast runner, faster than any normal human. He'll get some cool gadgets later, hopefully. Also, he can inh- wait, that's not exactly a power... Is it? XD
Side(Loki's or Avengers): *
Personality: Easily distracted, lax and lazy, which means in the current position he's not particularly happy. Usually quite optomistic and humorous, but when he's in a bad mood he gets all sulky and it's no use talking to him. Also lacking in vision~ as in, the future, consequences of actions, not eyesight~ and determination. He likes company but doesn't consider it necessary.
Appearance: Untamably messy black hair, startlingly pale ice blue eyes. The contrast is striking, though whether it is attractive or not is a matter of opinion. Average or slightly on the tall side height, quite light and skinny for his age; working in the factories does that to you; a runner's build. His complexion is strangely tanned; inherrited, obviously.
History: Used to belong to quite a wealthy family, which, incidntly, he had been adopted into from a young age, his real origins unknown, until he was kidnapped and sold as a slave. Has spent the last four years in a huge range of Loki's factories, the latest of which manufacturing army armor.
Other(?): Can inhale coffee. XD

With slow, measured movements, Margot removed the goggles from her eyes and placed them atop her head. She remained still for another moment, blinking her eyes as they adjusted in the dim light. Then, she crept to the side of the truck and peered out toward the figure she'd seen earlier.

Standing in plain sight was a young-looking girl with long, wavy hair, illuminated in wan moonlight. She was one of Loki's, Margot immediately assumed. No one else would dare to move about so freely this early in the night. The other indicator was the sword at the girl's hip. Loki and his goons had a penchant for old-style weaponry: swords, hammers, axes, bows. Margot personally preferred her weapons to pack a little more punch, but since the confiscation of firearms, their classical weapons had become quite effective at "maintaining the peace." -c

Margot kept a close watch as the girl proceeded to preen her hair and smooth down her clothes. For all the grandeur of her costume, the girl seemed almost uneasy about being out alone. Then, after a quiet assurance to herself, the girl proceeded on her way--and out of Margot's. She let out a relieved breath, then proceeded to glance around at the buildings. In a high-rise toward the left, she could see a hole in a third floor window. It seemed a fairly clean break, and it was up too high for stray cats or dogs or raccoons or runaways or other mongrels to have colonized--which meant that there might be some wood structures still intact. Which provided an opportunity for wood screws.

With fleeting steps, Margot darted to the side of the building, hiding behind the opposite side in case the girl from before decided to turn around. Then, she activated her gear, flipping the switches on the wrists of her gloves and clicking her heels together twice. She tapped her left forefinger and thumb together, and smiled when the two held fast as she tried to pull them apart. Using a peeling away motion, she freed her fingers and then began the climb up the sheer face of the building.

Sylvia continued on her way, the heel of her boots softly clicking on the ground as she walked. More houses lined the dusty streets. Nearby was a large field that could have been a park before it was destroyed. Some leaning willow trees dotted the land, and a broken fountain that no longer had water flowing from it sat near a bench.

She quickened her pace and strolled towards the willow tree, before sitting down beneath it. It'd been a while since she'd been able to come out and look around nightfall. Earth seemed oddly quiet in the dead of night and occasional small birds ruffled their feathers and fluttered from tree to tree.

Before long, as she stared at the peaceful scenery, she drifted off to a light sleep.

Frost tracked the girl heading toward the building. The moon was just rising, its milky sheen of light lighting the way. Careful not to make a sound, she slowly crept toward the building. Frost had to leave her wolves because they were destroyed, but she missed them dearly. She nearly got caught a couple of times, but safely got away by hiding. Now, she stayed in the shadows, avoiding all of Loki's allies.

Her tracking became a sprint as the girl Frost was following flipped switches on and off. Once, she almost got stuck, but luckily, she got out in the nick of time. Frost thought she heard talking, but it soon died down.

Eventually, Frost began to look for a shortcut instead. There wasn't any point in following that girl, she thought. Spotting a broken elevator, she started hatching a plan.

Ray collapsed in a heap as soon as he closed the makeshift corrugated-iron door shut with a clang. The thing was literally crumbling to bits from rust, but finding a new one would be such a chore; although it would almost be worth it if it got Mel off his back.
"Ray! Dude, what kept you this time?" a friend of his, cursed with the extremely ordinary name of Sam, asked in a hushed tone, striding over to give him a hand up.
Tentatively Ray unwrapped the package, revealing a packet of instant coffee.
"Yes!" Sam exclaimed, forgetting to lower his voice.
The fact that they were so dirt poor that even cruddy instant coffee was a luxury was pretty bad, Ray considered. Especially since he'd had to steal the money, and the fact that someone as lazy as him had done it meant a lot.
Bam! An object sounding suspiciously like old shoe whacked against one of the thin walls, telling them to shut it. Sam grinned guiltily and went to get some water. Of course, they had to drink the coffee cold, because there was no way to heat it. Considering what Ray had been drinking just a few years ago, he often wondered how he survived at all. Sugar... Cream... Chocolate... He could barely remember them anymore.
"So you're back, are you?" Mel appeared from the "kitchen"- or just the other room which they ate in.
"Uh, yeah," Ray answered a little sheepishly. Mel, Sam and him were like a family, and Mel being the oldest, if only by a few years, she acted like their mum, annoyingly enough.

With the practiced dexterity of a gecko, Margot scaled the wall. After passing the divide between the first and second floors, she stopped glancing down to check if she was being followed.

Three stories above the ground, the young woman crawled into the building through a gap in the glass window. The dim floor was lined with metal cubicles, all the way from the windows to the opposite wall. Though the desks nearest the broken window were partially corroded, most of the interior structures were well-preserved, as if the workers had merely gone home for the night and intended to return the next day.

A flash of movement from below registered in Margot's peripheral vision. She turned, with a swing of curly hair, to peer back down to the road. Another human figure was moving about that same building.

Margot cursed silently, her anxiety swelling. She needed to get out of the building. Sprinting to the other side of the room, she found herself faced with a locked door. After a few tense seconds of assault by screwdriver, the door gave way, and she forced her way into the old office. There were windows here as well--but thankfully, these ones opened. With a grateful sigh, Margot pried one open, activated her boots and gloves, and began a hasty descent into the alleyway.

@silver_winged
Creeping slowly in the building, Frost followed that girl, trying to block where she was heading. Suddenly, that girl swung her curly air. Frost froze. She was caught!

Frost was expecting to be killed. Instead, that girl started sprinting for the exit. The glimmer of the stars showed where the exit was. Frost followed her ran out the door, but the girl was nowhere to be seen.

Frost looked around for the possible places that a person could hide so quickly. There wasn't any place..except for that dark alley. It was a risk. There could have been Loki's allies there. Slowly, but surely, she sprinted there. She could see the girl she was tracking and prepared to jump on her. It was time to find out who she was.

Breathing wildly now, Margot moved as quickly as she could down the face of the building. However, just as she reached the first floor, a silhouette appeared at the mouth of the alleyway. "Son of a-" she mouthed through gritted teeth, and then dug in the toes of her boots as she began an ascent once more. Whoever this person was, they were persistent, and Margot wanted to avoid a fight if she possibly could. It was impossible to tell who was and wasn't allied with Loki these days.

Growing increasingly frustrated, she looked over her shoulder at the person in the alley. Upon closer inspection, the person was rather small; upon even closer inspection (after removal of the goggles), it became clear that this person was a mere girl. Margot stopped in her tracks. She could take this kid.

Scrambling a few meters to the side, she sought out a dead lamppost. One brief jump had her with her arms locked around it and her feet fixed securely on the sides. Hastily, she tapped her boots together, deactivating them, and then crossed her legs around the lamppost. Then, she turned off her gloves, and slid all the way to the ground like the firemen of old.

"What do you want?" she growled quietly, turning and facing the girl. She held the screwdriver firmly in one hand, and her secret weapon with the other.

Frost thought she was quiet enough-until the other girl turned around and growled, "What do you want?" She was clamping her screwdriver and something else in her hands.

The girl looked at her as if she was a child. Technically, she wasn't. She was 14. Rage boiled up, but Frost managed to stay calm.

"I'm wondering if you're on Loki's side or not. Oh, and don't think you can take me on just because you're older," Frost snapped back, fingering her clip.
