Aykay rolled her eyes at Frost's sarcasm. Sure she WAS acting a bit motherly, but she was feeling a lot of pressure to not mess this up.

"Margot, we're moving into the tower." she said into the communicator.

-So tell me.- said the voice. -How on earth is a tiger gonna work a lighter? You'll have to be in human form, won't you?-

Aykay went pale. She would have to be human to climb up the ladder as well. Without her tiger form, she'd be totally vulnerable...

No. She could do it. Fang, Frost and Pyra could handle the machines, especially with the others creating a diversion outside. Worst comes to worst, she could drop the lighter and transform.

"I'm going to have to stay in my human form." she told the others. "So I might need someone to watch my back, although I'm confident that with the three of you, the machines will be held back enough that it shouldn't even be a problem."

She put Fang's lighter in her mouth and her bag with Ray's coffee and Amira's bracelet in one corner of the tunnel and began to climb, hoping against all hope that this would not end the same way as last time.

Pyra nodded at Akyay, she had no problem with her taking the lead. She wasn't going to do it. Anyway, she was still going with the original plan. She wasn't completely sure about defending stuff, but if things got too bad, she's be fine. Probably. She walked over to the ladder and went up the ladder after her.

Andrew chuckled to himself before plunking into his chair. "Oh-o, someone's got the hots for a stranger!" He winked to Sylvia and put his chin on his hand.

They were very slowly descending towards the Tower, the top of the hovercraft still touching the bottom of the low cloud. Their boring mission still wasn't finished.

"Bloody cheese.." Andrew's metallic hand fell onto the table, making an extremely loud 'CLAANG' that made one sleeping Chitauri jump, exposing himself of laziness.

Sylvia rolled her eyes at Andrew's reply, before wincing as the clang echoed around the room. However, she made no comment about the noise. Instead, she glared at the chitauri that had woken up because of the noise. After a few seconds of silent glaring, she turned back towards Andrew.

"Bloody cheese?" she questioned.

The once sleeping Chitauri quickly started typing something onto the computer, sweating nervously as he felt Sylvia's cold eyes bearing down his back.

He shrugged. "Wasn't appropriate enough to swear." Andrew turned around in his spinny chair and asked the commander Chitauri when they will be finished scanning. His reply was that it was going to be a while yet, and Andrew groaned, annoyed. The commanding Chitauri suddenly looked perplexed, and slapped the closest lowly Chitauri on the back of the head while exclaiming "Hurry up!". All of the Chitauri suddenly became very busy, and the ship descended about 2 mph faster, which really wasn't much. Rolling his eyes, Andrew turned back to Sylvia and set his chin on his hand again.
"Why do you like the mystery man? You're too young to date, and I seriously doubt Loki would like him." He questioned.

Sylvia breathed out a short laugh. "Too young?" she asked. "I believe my father-" Sylvia cut herself off, deciding that the comment she was about to make was to inappropriate to say as of now. "In response to your first question, when have I stated that I liked him?"

"Roger," Margot replied to Aykay, leaning her mouth in close toward the microphone. Even so, her response was blurred by the sound of the wind rushing against them.

They were nearly at the top of the building at this point. Her mind had drowned out everything but the sensation of hard glass against her hands and feet; push up on the right side, push up on the left side. Her muscles ached from the tremendous strain, and she would certainly be lamenting the climb tomorrow. However, now wasn't the time to think about such things.

Her right hand gripped the top of the building, and then her left. She walked her feet up the wall, then dragged the two of them onto the flat ceiling of Stark Tower. Margot lay there for a moment on her side, panting. As she looked straight out at the city skyline, she could see nothing but cloudy skies and the tops of a few buildings. They were safe from ground spies here, but they'd be sitting ducks to any air patrol. They couldn't stay too long.

"Made the climb," she gasped into the microphone, switching off her gloves. Then, she untied the tape measure from around her and Aaron. After a moment more, she pushed herself onto her knees.

The top of Stark Tower was fairly featureless. There were a few ventilation shafts and what looked to be electrical boxes. There was also a raised platform with a mark painted onto it. With a grunt, she rose to her feet and stood squarely on the platform. It didn't budge.

"Through the vents, then," she muttered, fishing her screwdriver out of her satchel. She kneeled next to the closest panel and began hastily removing it.

Aykay stepped out through the trap door. As she cleared the opening, she looked up and froze. There were more than a few machines here... and they were watching her carefully, guns trained on her. These must have been the reinforcements that came when Fang killed the one...

She slowly raised her hands, keeping a close grip on the lighter in her sweating palm. She had to trust the others.

-You failed to take into account the reinforcements, didn't you?- asked the voice. -Your mistake.-

She should have let one of the others go first... She knew she shouldn't have been leader... This was a foolish mistake...

West started. Her hand felt hot and sticky. Of course, this was Midgard, wasn't it? Her jump had gone wrong and she'd cut herself on one of the sharp ragged-edge tiles when scrambling for a grip. Annoyed, she smeared the liquid on her cheek, disinclined to ruin her clothes, and needing the use of her hands. From then on, she decided, it would be safest to go by the streets; especially after sighting a large vessel in the sky. West was curious about it, and knew it to likely have some connection with the person whom she sought, but she also did not wish to be exposed. She slipped her fluffy hood back over her head in order to hide her alien hair, before dropping down to the ground, straightening to her full and not-high-at-all height, and proceeding towards the foot of Stark Tower.

@asi @bunnyshadow Get this party started! 😃

Aizel had shifted, now crouched inbetween Ray and Angel, all thought of the Chitauri or Stark Tower comletely forgotten. She'd stalked on the whole conversation and was surprised to say the least. Angel was the typicall dumb blonde type, a little too quiet and shy than usual, but all in all, she didn't seem like danger to Aizel. For the tanned girl, talkative was the troublesome type and quiet introverts were harmless but... useless.

Truth be told, however, now that she saw it, Angel had not done anything to prove she was on their side - had not helped them, nor done anything of their favor. Aizel had to mentally curse herself for not noticing that... But it wasn't too late to fix things. The blonde didn't seem like she had any useful abilities and such, nor did she had any chances of over-powering Aizel. However, if she was sent in to spy on them (a bunch of young, buy powerful people), then she was worty of such a task. That meant she either had something up her sleeve or was stronger than she looked. Either ways, Aizel decided to play safe, putting up her marvelous act.

"Dudes, come on, be serious, a bunch'a Chitauris are waitin' for us and you're bickering like sissies!" she whispered scoldingly, pretending to have understood nothing. "Man up!"

That facade made her look pathetic, annoying and a complete moron, but she had to admit - it was nice how everyone thought her harmless. She was a better actress than Angel, that was sure. "Let's save it for the battlefield right?" she flashed the blonde a goofy grin.

That's right, she'd show them that she was a clueless, utterly stupid streed fighter who was nothing more than a pair of fists. She liked to let them think that...

"If we were going to see the wonderful wizard, she'd be the scarecrow," Ray muttered under his breath, eyeing Aizel with a kind of despairing DERP look.
Because it would be SO GREAT to have Angel and the Chitauri team up on them, wouldn't it? Surely Aizel wasn't really this dumb. It was so pathetic it actually made Ray want to dig a hole to die in. Unfortunately, no such dignified death was currently available, and Rayner wasn't usually a particularly suicidal person in any case. He knocked on her head to see if it was hollow. To his surprise, apparently not.
"Aizel, honey, you may not be able to chose your battles, but I'd really rather take them one at a time," he sighed.

Angel bought Aizel's act, with nothing more than an suspicious glint in her eye. She turned back to Ray, annoyance etched onto her face. "Forget it." She said forcefully, her voice beginning to take on a nicer sounding tone. "You didn't hear me speak to Sylvia, nor Andrew." Angel said, her dark blue eyes glowing a bit silver. "As far as we all now, I am still with your.." She trailed off, pausing as she thought of the right words.

"Nasty little rebel group." She finished.

@Bunnyshadow @Asi 😉

They'd both bought it. It was so amusing how innocently stupid they thought her. And, well, truth be told, being bubbly had a nice side - you could always mask your anger with it...

Aizel grinned at Ray, having heard his inaudible comment and to his statement, she replied with a cocked eyebrow. "Oh, I can choose my battles alright." she chuckled lightly, talking to Ray, but glancing sideways at Angel. A tanned hand came down to grip the gun tucked underneath her shirt.

Grin turned into a cruel smirk, light chuckle was drk laughter now. Aizel took out her gun.
"You'd be surprised by how manipulative I can be." she hissed and with a growl, hauled herself at Angel's back, extending a hand in an attempt to push the blonde head into the pavement. The barrel of the gun was now pressed to Angel's temple. "Stay down and 'verything'll be a'ight." she cooed.

"Ohhh," a dreamy, distant kind of smile formed on Ray's face after looking into Angel's eyes. They were so very pretty... His mind went blank.
"So... What were we doing just now?" he looked at the others expectantly, seeming a little sheepish for forgetting. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm TIRED. I wouldn't mind catching some Z's..." he froze mid-yawn as Aizel took out her gun. What was she doing?! He was too slow to react properly. Before he knew it, she was an inch from blowing the blond's- (he couldn't recall her name, something unremarkable-) brains onto the pavement. He went pale. Aizel, a traitor?? He'd never have guessed! She must be smarter than he'd thought, too, going for the girl instead of him.
Ray went pale. He couldn't believe this. Shocked, he demanded; "Aizel! What are you doing?!"

Angel felt the cool metal of the gun at her temple, and knew that Aizel wouldn't hesitate to shoot. This was perfect. She twisted her head sideways so that she could give Ray a pleading look, barely hiding the smirk on her face. If she was able to get out of this alive, Ray would think Aizel was the traitor. Either way, whether Angel died or not, Aizel would be the one at fault.

"What are you doing?" She whispered, false, but believable fear in her voice.

Aykay held her breath and tried to count them without moving. Six... seven... eight. Far too many to take out on her own, assuming she could transform without being blown to bits on the spot... no that wasn't an option...

If the others did come up and attack immediately, she'd have to find somewhere to hide from the gunfire... She looked around. There was a metal crate. That was about it.

So that was her plan. The second the others decided to come up, she would run to the crate and hide. Near the crate was a stack of cardboard boxes... perfect to start the fire during the fight...
-Coward.- said the voice.

Fang started climbing the metal ladder, and he jabbed Aykay in her side. "Move." he hissed. "I think we're already behind the schedule." Fang added. He looked back down at Pyra, to make sure she was still there and hadn't wimped out and ran out the tunnel.

Aykay used the distraction of Fang showing up to dive behind the crate. She quickly lit the lighter and lit the cardboard boxes on fire.

"Hey, Margot." She said into the communicator. "Starting to light fires, but we've run into an issue..."

She tried not to sound panicked, but she was not succeeding and she knew it.

I ain't pingin' anyone no more! >:I Hmp!

"Whattaya /mean/ what I'm frigging doing? Taking out the traitor. The heck are /you/ doing still standin' there?" came the harsh reply. From her comfortable position, crushing Angel's spine with her knee, Aizel glanced furiously at Ray. She was annoyed that the boy was responding like a low lifeform. And he called /her/ the mindless scarecrow...

Well, to say he was stupid was a lie. Truth be told, he had the observation and tacticall skills that she lacked. He wasn't dumb, so that possibility was checked out of the list. So, why was he acting like a lovesick moron all of a sudden?

Her eyes snapped towards the blode head that she pushed to the pavement. She gripped the gun harder, baring her teeth. The blonde b****... She cursed under her breath, pressing the barrel firmly to her temple. So that was Angel's power... - persuasion. She'd hypnotized Ray to forget. When the girl had first shown up, she'd asked who they were. Many had been tempted to answer, since her voice had sounded so parsuasive.

Aizel growled quietly, pushing Angel's head into the pavement, hoping to at least break her nose (GM?). "What did you do to him!?!" she hissed in the blonde's ear.

Blondie... His legs seemed unable to move, melded into concrete somehow. What could Ray do?!
Then Aizel snapped at him. Taking out the traitor?? What... What did that mean?! Ray's eyes flicked between the two girls. He felt as if he'd just missed something vital...! How could that be, he'd been standing in this very spot the hole time! (Of course, he zoned out a lot normally, but here, in Chitauri Territory??)
Perhaps... Both Angel and Aizel were traitors?! And Angel double-crossed?
Ray shook his head slightly at that; no, that couldn't be... Surely Loki wouldn't bother with TWO spies for this mottely rebellion, if it could even be categorized as such... And even if he had, he surely wouldn't give them both A letter names.... Pfft.
Again, his glanced from one to the other, desperately searching each face for explanation. Angel (that was her name!) looked so helpless; Aizel was going to hurt her; she needed his help!
Ray wandered forward, towards the two girls, like some kind of sleepwalker; eyes half closed, expression still slightly dazed, though now a frown was present, evidence of his internal confusion. He reached out as if to grab Aizel's arm and stop her, then hesitated.
He wondered if either had any headache stuff- what had his mom used to give him?- panadol?- because he could feel a major migraine coming on.

Now Ray was acting completely zombified. In his swayish posture, he'd approached her and had hesitantly reached out to grab her arm. He'd stopped, still utterly confused. She admitted to pitying him. All this commotion was getting a firm hold of his mind. Sooner or later, she guessed she'd have to knock him out... Otherwise, she probably wouldn't be able to take any more of his goofy confusion. However, Ray was her last problem.

Well, to say she was in a sticky situation was a little softly said. She was right in the middle of the Chitauri fields with a group of beasts standing one BLOCK away from her. A traitor hypnotizing her partner, said partner completely zombified. And on top of that, they had an important job of distraction that they WEREN'T doing! She had all those things stacked up on her shoulders. And frankly... she felt like freaking out.

"What did you do to him!?! Fix him! NOW!" ...And she did exactly that... "Did you hypnotize him!?!? Scr*w his brain up?!?! FIX HIM!" she couldn't even think of screaming, hence the Chitauri, but instead sticked to squeaking quietly in Angel's face. She pulled the gun's barrel away, only so she could take a handful of Angel's shirt and aim to slam her to the ground again. "Fix him!?!? FIX HIM!"

Aykay watched as the whole pile caught fire. The machines were beginning to take notice and some began heading towards her hiding place. It was at that point that the contents began to explode in small, yet hazardous bursts. She put up her arms to shield herself. It must have been aerosol cans or something, because the fire was burning higher and had a bit of a chemical smell to it.

The small explosions didn't hurt much. At worst, it would be like a sunburn. The problem was the fumes now permeating the air... something the machines seemed immune to, although the fireworks show did seem to confuse them a bit...

"Fang." she choked, covering her mouth. "Signal to the others. We have to keep moving..."

Ray, confuddled as he was, couldn't fail to overhear Aizel's hushed rage. What in the seventh hell was going on here? Aizel was crazy mad at the small, blond girl, the kind of gal that looked like she couldn't aggravate a... Ray racked his mind for a good metaphor, but nothing seemed to apply.
He made a mental note to try and not to wind Aizel up.
(And, "Fix him"?? Ray looked around blankly as if expecting to see some buff guy with several broken limbs lying abandoned on the street. Clearly there were none. Nor did Aizel keep a pet robot hampster, to his knowledge).
Angel was being used pounded ruthlessly into the ashfelt yet appeared to barely be bothered by it! What....
This world... Something was so very wrong here...
"Aizel?" he asked hesitantly, softly. "What's with you...? There's nothing wrong....." he found himself lying to himself, contradicting his own thoughts mere blinks ago. Wasn't something wrong? So very wrong? Ray... Couldn't tell anymore. Suddenly he felt very alone.
"Nothing's wrong," he repeated in a small voice.
Maybe he couldn't tell right from wrong anymore because everything was wrong... Or was it the other way around?
His world was a warped one, the scene from Labyrinth with the staircases, upside down, on the walls, every which way. There, too, you couldn't tell right from wrong, up from down... Until you had to wonder, did such concepts exist? Right and wrong?
It made his head dizzy.
"Aizel..."

The lighter dropped out of Pyra's glove. She frowned, and dropped from the ladder to pick it up, letting Fang go in front of her. She went back up the ladder and was hit my the smell of smoke. What happened?! She launched her up and saw the burning and gases. She took a deep breath. Yuck. She dashed in front of the others, in case the fire got closer. She could breath sorta okay. At least better than the others, because of her fire stuff and the smoke. Though the chemicals... She saw the chitauri suddenly. So many. Wow. She looked behind her. "What now?" This was just lovely... Was the other group discovered yet, since they were?

@asi YAYZ! 😃 @bunnyshadow Gawsh, I so wanna use Ezra soon XDDD

"There's nothing to fix. Nothing is wrong. The only thing you need to worry about are the chitauri."

Aizel paused, midway to slamming Angel's head in the concrete again, and froze dead in her actions. She'd paled, as if having seen a ghost and let go of Angel's collar, retracting trambling hands to her chest. Her eyes widened, now gaining a glassy, far-away look as she stared, hypnotized by the blonde's cerulean abysses.
'There's nothing to fix -ix -ix...' the words echoed in her head, at first quietly, like a whisper.
'There's nothing to fix -ix -ix.' another chant followed. She drew back, still unable to look away from Angel's piercing gaze.
'There's nothing to fix .... fix.... fix ...ix...ix...' the chant became louder and prolonged. Angel's voice multiplied and in her head, Aizel could hear it screaming to her, whispering, chuckling the words, saying them in a monotone voice, roaring them in an angry manner. It was agonizing - her mind buzzed with a thousand versions of Angel's voice. She drew back, tumbling on the ground with hands clutching both sides of her head. She trembled, visibly struggling against Angel's power.
"G-get out of... m- ...my head-d." she stuttered out, gritting her teeth in pain. the sound of Angel's voice was so loud, it pierced her temples like small, deadly needles...
