Absolutely! More for the larger tiers like Berr that you're in, it can be hard to find a single pet that's >5K, so if on their wishlist you can find a couple that are 2k - 3k each, you can make a sort of "gift bundle". Just try not to make it too many smaller pets. 😊

( ... though i'm low key tempted to switch to berr. is a value of over 5k cc mostly determined by self-judgement? i'm worried i won't have enough off someone's wishlist and i'll have to supplement it with other creatures o ^ o ; )

By no means does it has to be all with one creature! Like, let's say on your partner's wishlist they have some pets worth less than 5kcc, you could get them one that was around 4kcc and one that was maybe 2.5kcc for example to get to the "over 5 range". Just as long as you try your best to not go above like three or so different creatures so they're still getting high value pets (unless you're shooting for a WAY over the 5k range, in which case, by all means go for it!) But again, values are super subjective. To me, pets that may be "worth" 3kcc by most standards have a lot higher value (i̶ ̶m̶e̶a̶n̶ ̶@l̶u̶v̶d̶u̶v̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶o̶f̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶), whereas some pets that are over 5kcc in value don't interest me at all. You can go with your giftee's wishlist, and your gut!
