Yoshi was lying on her bed as the elf named Agnimitra strolled in. The elf seemed to be lost in lost as she stared out the window. Yoshi looked out the window at the lake, "Quite beautiful isn't it?" Yoshi asked, although she wasn't sure if she was asking the elf or just talking to herself.

Oh great. One of my roommates had decided to speak to me after all. I twist around to face who had spoken. I thought I knew, but I still wasn’t accustomed to identifying by their voices yet. A quick glance confirms that it’s Yoshi. I turn back to the window. “Yes, it is,” I reply simply. Lakes had always been special to me. They helped me relax and be free of my troubles for a moment. I wasn’t about to tell Yoshi that, though. I’d only told one person, and I’d just seen how well that friendship went. It hadn't went well.

Yoshi narrowed her eyes as Agnimitra answered and turn back towards the window. Day 1 at the academy and her second conversation of the day ended in two sentences. Yoshi sat up and took out the book she was reading all night long. Too bad there wasn't a chapter on how to make friends. The word enemy was pasted all over the page. "huh, beautiful, but with one wrong move there will be a roaring beast," Yoshi said to herself. She history with large bodies of water was not a fun one. She preferred the skies and solid ground. Water was a fear she refused to reveal. Sighing, Yoshi looked back at her book.

I finish the apple and look out the window.

Patience-
I start to brew some tea, boiling water and preparing more teabags. I sigh in relief as I recognize the comforting scent of tea. My nerves calm down.

Aria:
~ I yawn and squeeze my eyes shut tight. I could see a bright light on the inside of my eyelids and I open them a crack. A beam of light shone directly into them, searing straight into my corneas. I sit up and scratch my head. I look around. Wait. I look around at everything again. "Oh my gosh." I whisper. I practically fly out of my bed. A grin spreads across my face as I see the clothes on my dresser. I snatch them up and run into the bathroom to change.

Mikel finishes eating. He starts heading back to the dorm to take a nap. Wait, I'm at a school, which means there's probably a cool library here! He quickly heads in the opposite direction looking for the library.

Ali wiggles farther under her covers and the light shines through her eyelids and smiles feeling the comfort of a bed and sheets. Then her eyes open and she pushes herself out of bed and changes into the new clothes that appeared over night. Then she made here way down stairs less afraid then she was yesterday. She grabbed some food and sat down on the other side of the table to eat.

Luna woke up late, she jumped out of bed and pulled her clothes on. Why had no-one woken her up? She tripped over her own feet and landed with a thud on the floor.

I drink my tea. I breathe out a sigh. I hear a thud. I set down my tea and run into the first girls bedroom. Someone fell! I bite my lip. "U-Uh, are y-you o-okay?" I offer to help her up. She was Luna, pretty friendly, so it was okay.

“I’m fine, I just slipped. What’s the time? I just woke up!”
She yawned and pushed herself to her feet. She aches all over but it was easy enough to ignore

Luna nodded, this girl was twitching like mad now. It wasn’t right for her to tease about it though so she stayed quiet. Luna turned to the door.

Mikel stops in front of some large wooden doors. He opens the door and pokes his head in. He could see rows of bookshelves and the air carried the scent of old books. This had to be the library. There were no people around at the moment which relieved Mikel. He was tired of being around the other chosen all the time. He walks into the library and looks around. He spots the section labelled 'magic' and heads over to it excitedly. He reads the titles on the spines and finds one about the history of magic. He pulls it from the shelf and glances around for a good spot to sit and read. He sees a spot in the corner of the room by a window. He makes himself comfortable and starts flipping through the pages.

(You know, the more I think about the more the dorms seem like large apartments. They have the kitchen, living room, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. That’s just a large apartment, right?)

I let out a soft sigh as I hear Maliha as she tries to get everyone up. “Good morning, Chosen! It’s time to get up, eat breakfast, and get ready! We’re going to go meet your beasts as soon as everyone is up and ready!” There was a pause and then she adds, “Oh, and don’t forget to wear your badge. They are very important.” I get out of bed and walk over to my dresser. The badge with my fake name was gleaming on top of it. I reach out and grab it. I pin it to my shirt. I walk back into the living room and sit on the couches while I wait for the others.

I finished my breakfast, happy to hear that this kitchen was essentially a free space. Cooking wasn't one of my talents, but I liked to eat fruit while I read. I considered what I wanted to do today, and then remembered that we were supposed to meet our beasts. I went back into my room and stared out my window, hugging a pillow. I missed the little flower boxes that used to be on my windowsills. I grabbed my badge and sat on a couch in the living room next to the bookshelf and continued reading.

Felix walks back into his dorm. The human boy seemed to be up now-the room was empty. He grabs his badge and walks back into the kitchen, trying to eat as much as he can before they left to meet the beasts.

Oh! I dig though my pocket for my badge. Pinning on my chest, I eat breakfast, careful not to touch the meat.

Patience-
I finish my cup and grab a bottle to pour the rest in.
"Don't forget to wear your badge!"
"Gah!" I jump. I look though my pockets, searching for my badge. I finally find it and I take a couple minutes of trying to pin it on and biting my lip. I sip my tea and sigh.

Yoshi yawned, she walked into the living room and crashed onto the couch across from Agnimitra. "Oi. Agnimitra, right? Wake me up when we need to go," Yoshi said as she closed her eyes for a nap.

Mikel puts the book down. He yawns and decides to head back to the dorm. As he passes by the living room he could see everyone else gathering there. What are they all waiting for? He feels his badge in his pocket. Oh right, beasts. He sighs and leans against the wall.

I flip through my sketchbook. I wouldn't eat breakfast. Wasn't hungry enough.

I look over at Yoshi. "Sure, but I think we're leaving soon," I reply. Just like I thought, about 10 minutes later, Maliha and Mircea finish cleaning up the dishes and mess they made from cooking. They dry their hands and walk over to the door. "If everyone is ready, let's head out!" she says. She opens the door. "Yoshi, wake up," I say. I didn't bother being loud or anything. I was sure Maliha's shouting would have woken Yoshi up. She was a loud person. I walk into my room to grab my cloak and then meet up with the others by the door. I could see a few Beasts Academy members walking around. They lived here too in their own apartments.

Mircea leads the way to the stables. I follow him outside. I was happy to be outside in nature again, though I didn't let it show. They said some elves had a connection to nature. I was definitely one of those elves. Even from a young age, I'd loved to be out and about. I'd climb the trees, swim in the lakes, and roll down the hills. I smile softly as I reminiscence my younger and care free self. I wasn't like that anymore. Not in the slightest.





I push myself away from the wall I'd been leaning on when Maliha says it's time to go. I walk to the door and follow Mircea. Maliha stayed at the back of the group. I enjoy the sun and warmth for a moment before looking over at my fellow Chosen. I should go talk to a few of them. So far, I'd only gotten to know Luna, who was awesome, but I wanted to get to know a few more people. It was important to make friends and allies. I'd learned that from training to be a knight. The more people I became friends with, the more people I could trust would have my back. I step into a cluster of them. "Hello," I say. "Are you all excited to get your beasts? What are you hoping they'll be?" I walk with them and wait for an answer.
