I like the new Meriton, but personally I like the more cartoonish style better. The shading makes me feel oddly uncomfortable? Guess it’ll just take some getting used to. They’re both still very cute! The Meriton’s lack of confusing spikes is kinda relieving to see lol

I think I kind of preferred the old batteron, but the new art looks great too! I vote we redraw the nym, onny, and tine. ;D Kidding kidding, I vote the coona, lem, smorlin, tiver, and wahla for updates! 😊

I think the look is cute, but I froze the 1st stage of my Meriton because I really liked that stage, I really need to get used to this new look. I dunno, I really pick creatures for their art style, so I'm not super into for sudden redraws. Maybe a poll or something?

The redraws look lovely! I didn't like these creatures originally, but now that they've been redone I like them much more.

Personally, I'm not too keen on these redraws, I enjoyed the style of the old versions more. It's kind of disappointing to me because it seems like erasing bits of the history of Eggcave, where many talented artists left a piece of themselves.

I also think that now my creatures don't match as well with their travels. I wish there at least was an option to choose which style would I like my creatures to be in. It would add a touch of personalization and make it more fun to collect more of the same specie.

Eh, I prefer the old Batteron more than this redraw. I liked the older style, to be honest. I'm mostly indifferent on the Meriton. I didn't realise that was supposed to be a tail, though... I thought it was sitting in some grass or something and its tail was hidden in it.

@prairie - I kinda agree. I'm not the biggest fan of the final stage (it really isn't drawn all that well in my opinion) and I can barely tell what the hatched stage is supposed to be. Seeing it redrawn would be interesting.

While these are nice, I don't think people who froze theirs in certain stages would agree. As for them fitting in, I suppose they do, but a lot of the cave commons are misfits as well.

I like the new Batteron! I kinda like the old art style, wish there was actually more of it. I dunno if it's just my eyes but the new Meriton is a little hard to read as a drawing. (Not like I looked at them often anyways)

I really like the Batteron. The Meriton is ok, but I was never really that big of a fan of the original. Some creatures that come to mind: Kinka, Pogknot, Coona (has a lot of potential, but the current art really bugs me--no offense to the artist) To a lesser degree: Trinit

I think I like them, but it'll take some getting used to. It feels kind of strange to me that creatures are getting redrawn to fit the style when the style has changed so much over time. It does make sense for non-retired creatures though and would love to see the coona redone

personally I think the Vitta could be redrawn, it looks two dimensional and has a lot of potential like these other creatures! concept of redrawing is great!

Awesome! Yes, I do have a few redraw suggestions, I guess! I'll list them, but I might have to post multiple replies. Hope you guys don't mind it. Please do keep in mind that I'm not listing them because I find them ugly, but because I don't think they match the EC style at all!

I could see redrawing the Meriton a little, but the Batteron looked super cute how it was originally ☹️ If you want to redraw something, do those new CSP travel :x

@valorie100 I agree. I liked the previous design for Batteron infinitely better. The older eggs seem to be of higher quality and very "crisp". These are simpler with less "depth" almost seems more sloppy. It definitely confuses a logic toward quality likewse with the travels :/

@veritaspunk I can see what you're taking about. It makes me not even want to keep my Batteron anymore. Regardless, the Meriton is super cute in child stage, I'll give them that. In the past, I gave my Meritons away because I didn't like them xD Confusing indeed!
