Creature Release Week returns on January 14. Does anyone want to guess what this year's theme will be?
thursdays_dove • 9 Jan 2019, 12:02 AM
I'm guessing either spikes, ugly creatures, or swamp things.
prairie • 9 Jan 2019, 12:03 AM
That last stage's right front leg looks swollen, ouch. Is the theme cryptids? Hodags are cryptids
jb092 • 9 Jan 2019, 12:06 AM
Dinos + other animals? So in a way mythological hybrids....
inkpelt • 9 Jan 2019, 12:10 AM
@prairie what the heck is a hodag? Where does that originate from? I think cryprids would be a cool theme.
Orderedchaos • 9 Jan 2019, 12:12 AM
@inkpelt Hodags are a cryptid from Wisconsin.
prairie • 9 Jan 2019, 12:12 AM
@inkpelt A hodag is a cryptid from Wisconsin.
inkpelt • 9 Jan 2019, 12:14 AM
@orderedchaos interesting, not what I was guessing but cool, thanks.
inkpelt • 9 Jan 2019, 12:16 AM
@prairie indeed! I still don't know what it is. Time to google.
prairie • 9 Jan 2019, 12:17 AM
@inkpelt Google is your friend at times like these
inkpelt • 9 Jan 2019, 12:19 AM
@prairie Right, I need pictures of this beast.
Orderedchaos • 9 Jan 2019, 12:21 AM
@inkpelt http://cryptidz.wikia.com/wiki/Hodag Enjoy
inkpelt • 9 Jan 2019, 12:25 AM
@orderedchaos thanks. Makes you wonder how they fabricated the fake critter in the picture. Probably don't want to know.
meeklydream • 9 Jan 2019, 12:34 AM
I'm hoping it has something to do with Mythology.
murfijs • 9 Jan 2019, 1:23 AM
maybe the theme is something like mythology, beast?
playermocha345 • 9 Jan 2019, 1:28 AM
the Hodag?? itself looks like the character from Monster. Inc, Sulley was the name I believe? Am I wrong?
marner • 9 Jan 2019, 3:39 AM
After looking into this Hodag, I think i need to take a trip to Wisconsin. He's kinda cute! The mythical beasts in my state are not as cool as he is! Now I'm really hoping they're these mythical beasts from all around the world!
sparklefox • 9 Jan 2019, 6:53 AM
Ooh, looks like I'm going to enjoy the theme this year if I'm guessing right.
katrinwolf • 9 Jan 2019, 7:21 AM
Definitely writing for this one, because I WANTS *_* There's something Jim Henson-esque about this beast, and also these "dunno-what-it-is" creatures are my personal favourites.
foxbit • 9 Jan 2019, 9:09 AM
If the theme is cryptids, I want a Loch Ness creature I think that's my favorite.
moonweaver • 9 Jan 2019, 9:54 AM
skyfall4 • 9 Jan 2019, 10:07 AM
*still wonders if the CRWs will be the seven deadly sins*
qerrats • 9 Jan 2019, 12:46 PM
Swamp Creatures, Maybe?
scorch_cloud222 • 9 Jan 2019, 1:54 PM
I hope they'll be cryptids.
solaris • 9 Jan 2019, 3:30 PM
Ahh! I’m moving on Tuesday! I hope I’ll have wifi up and running before it ends.
dragonnn • 9 Jan 2019, 7:06 PM
Need more cove space.
idol • 9 Jan 2019, 7:11 PM
I like the mythology theme.
Don't really like this creature though. T.T
I agree with @Foxbit about it being cool if there is a loch ness monster creature though
lazyanon • 9 Jan 2019, 8:04 PM
If it's really cryptids bigfoot is a must and maybe lizard people for NC? Of the flatnose monster.
skyfall4 • 9 Jan 2019, 8:18 PM
I have a question @Ian - is the actual creature going to be called the Hodag?
whispers • 9 Jan 2019, 8:29 PM
Huh :0 looks interesting. It would be cool if the theme was cryptids lol
iris1929578 • 9 Jan 2019, 8:49 PM
Really hoping it’s mythology, now I want a Phoenix creature so bad
silvershadow • 9 Jan 2019, 8:51 PM
@skyfall4 you know what, that would be awesome
skyfall4 • 9 Jan 2019, 9:14 PM
@silvershadow That would be amazingggggg especially if it's the cryptids Then there's Loch Ness, Big Foot, maybe a Jackalope....
alice_meri_fox • 9 Jan 2019, 10:07 PM
As a half a cheesehead with more than a foot in the Rilander area, I’m VERY excited for this creature if we are indeed calling it a Hodag. If, not that’s okay, but i’d Still be a bit disappointed.
silvershadow • 9 Jan 2019, 10:44 PM
@skyfall4 lol yes predictions appear to be on the right track...
lunacharm1037 • 10 Jan 2019, 11:27 AM
what is a jackalope?
prairie • 10 Jan 2019, 11:41 AM
@lunacharm1037 jackalopes are jack rabbits, but with deer/antalope horns.
lunacharm1037 • 10 Jan 2019, 11:43 AM
Thanks, I love rabbits/bunnies idk about liking the antlers though
foxesthebest • 10 Jan 2019, 4:26 PM
8-leggedfreak • 10 Jan 2019, 9:28 PM
Maybe we can hope for a Wampus too
sybil_howlett • 11 Jan 2019, 4:13 PM
@playermocha345 Sulley is based on a prehistoric giant ground sloth, look at http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/James_P._Sullivan look into the point trivia but you are right, the hodag and sloth look slightly alike
shadowy_overseer • 13 Jan 2019, 7:16 AM
*cracks knuckles* Well, time to get writing.
jarofstars • 14 Jan 2019, 3:47 AM
This one's a tie between weird and cute. Definitely one to look for.
