Hurt my ankle last night at work.
I tripped and fell down some stairs.
Can't say I'm very lucky :')
Very few people know about it.
It was so swollen last night. Still is today, but it's really bruised!
I couldn't walk last night when I got up for a drink at about 2 in the morning. It was hurting too much and was too swollen for me to be able to move it so I literally crawled to the fridge for my glass of water.
Luckily today it feels okayish so I could work my short shift 😸

One lucky thing though, I'm going to Ariana grande in September πŸ˜ƒ

Hey all.

So some of you know that I'm crushing on this guy in my classes. Well, just a quick update, we've been having a subtle back and forth flirting for the past 2 weeks.

I also asked him out to dinner (with another friend of mine because I didn't want to jump too quickly) and he said yes! Dinner is next Friday and I'm super excited.

I'm glad that we seem to be getting closer as friends.😊

Keep us updated on how dinner goes and stuff xD
I hope it all works out 😸
Good on you for asking him too! πŸ˜ƒ

So I was reading what I thought was a legitimate scientific paper about population when I stumbled across the words homework for this exercise takes approximately 45 minutes. I am utterly guttered as it has so much information I could use for my genetics report!

At least that monstrosity gave me references to find relevant information.

Last week was crazy.
Work, school, homework.
I haven't stopped.
I sat down last night at about 7 after dinner for what was meant to be all of five minutes before I did some more homework. Fell asleep and woke up at 7:30. Decided I was way too tired and went to bed at 8. Weird for me since I haven't gone to bed that early in a long time!

At the moment I'm working on an assignment I want to hand in tomorrow. Work in a couple of hours.

It's my birthday in two days, a friend is coming over after I've gotten back from school to hang out with me for a bit. Should be a fun day if I don't fall asleep xD
I didn't want to do anything for my birthday but anyway 😊

Today was my birthday and everything about it was actually great.
I told everyone not to worry about my birthday and whatnot, thinking everyone would listen.

I passed three assessments in the one day today in makeup
Then after school my friend came over and made nachos and watched the amazing spiderman with me.
Two other friends visited just after dinner and hung out for a little then left. Almost as soon as they left another friend came over just really quickly to give me a gift and say happy birthday.
After my friend who was around a few hours left and I thought my day was done my best friend showed up. I'd hardly heard from her all day and she'd been at work.

I felt so happy grateful and appreciative today. It's nearly 2am and today has just been great 😸

So I'm downstairs, sitting on the couch with my laptop, and I decide "hey i'm tired i'll go to my room". I take my headphones off and all I hear from upstairs is "GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM". Confused me reaches the stairs and all I can smell is burning paper.

Turns out my younger brother burned something in his room. What it was (since I only saw it in its burned-to-ashes state in a bowl) or if it was on purpose, or why someone shouted about the bathroom, I don't know. But I'm glad I left the window in my bedroom open... That smell was awful.

If no one noticed on time, then the smoke alarms probably would've started to bleep. And, as you could imagine, unaware me sitting downstairs would've loved those suddenly going off out of nowhere...

Hmmm... I was bored again, and I came here. Haven't been on since, like, a month or two. At least it feels like it. So, I was wondering, HOW do people draw so good online? To me, it is way harder than drawing in a simple piece of paper. I draw horrible like that. Oh, and, @doyoueverwonder can I use your cat drawing ideas? Well at least the eyes. I suck at drawing eyes. Please?

At least I can sleep throughout the summer. Hee hee.

Heh...
I've got about a month of school left... teachers are giving us all these huge assignments to work on. :/

More updates on life:
β€’ I'm bored and want someone to chat with
β€’ I have no friends
β€’ Fidget spinners are really pointless and I dislike them with a passion (Now, let's all act like civilized human beings and not spam my wall with angry comments on my opinion!)
β€’ I'd like some more online games to play
β€’ Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I feel as if fidget spinners are for people who actually need them. I'm okay with people who need the spinners using them, but for people who just use it to distract the class... I despise them.

Fidget spinners are very annoying. I do not understand the popularity of them. There are a lot of times I cannot stay still so I fidget with a hair-tie or some blu tack. These options keep you occupied and don't have any noise. At the school my sisters teach at fidget spinners are banned.

I hate musicals. Simple as that. I do not enjoy continuous singing. But now there's an Anastasia musical and I do not wish to miss it when it is in Australia. I love this movie so much and I want to support the musical. I do hope that there is a HD remake or something in the future.

Mastergemma I never realized you lived in Australia. It's one of the places I'm dying to go to. I'm from the USA, and have sadly never left the country except once to see the Niagara Falls from the better side.

I like good musicals, emphasis on good, because it can be wonderful the way they mix sight, story, and song. If they're not the best, then all you get is a weirdly spaced concert with a bunch of useless catchy songs stuck in your head. I saw Mary Poppins, and really enjoyed it.

Oh, and about those fidget spinners. I have it from a very good source that they don't really help those they are supposed to help as much as other, quieter things! Some just bring them to disrupt the class, and the teacher can't ban them. I tend to fiddle with things myself, so I will fidget with a rubber band or, if I'm really desperate, often bring a sheet of paper to doodle on.

Teachers can't ban them? What rubbish! Teachers can do whatever they want if something is disrupting their class! They have been banned at many schools in Australia and if you're caught with one you have to give it to the teacher or get an after school detention. Naturally they would be given back at the end of the day.

Australia is a very beautiful place, if you know where to look or not. There's a lot concerning nature, shopping, activities and culture. There's a much different feel from city areas to country areas which I absolutely love. If you do consider taking a trip to Australia I would be happy to give some advice.

We're going to Glasgow for something and I can't even remember what it is. Let's hope the long bus journey won't be torture, because they always are. It's not even the people on the bus, it's just that I hate sitting for too long without moving around. Your legs begin to hurt and you can't even stand up or change your sitting position to ease the pain... and I'll need to suffer for a few hours.

I hate fidget spinners, too. They're so irritating. What's worse is that my brother has one. You can imagine how annoying that is...

Aaand there's an exam in a couple of days. At least it's my last one for this year. How fun.

Well I guess the teachers not able to ban them is just a US thing... or maybe just a New York thing? The thought is the teacher may be sued if they keep a child who 'needs' the spinner from having it. Even if the rest of the class is just doing it to annoy the teacher!

Australia does sound beautiful. I have an aunt/second cousin/ I have no idea how she and I are related that lives there. Maybe someday I can go visit, instead of having her fly here.
Unfortunately, thats still a someday.

Fidget spinners are banned in my school, though people still bring them. My fidget device is a piece of paper... I play with it so much the fibers loosen up and the paper becomes soft... I call "soft paper". I haven't had it taken away... yet, though if a teacher does take away my soft paper then I can just make a new one.
I have a fidget spinner, but don't bring it to school, obviously. I think it helps me. I gives me a mild entertainment and something to do with my hands. I go crazy if I'm not multitasking, so it helps me stop my bad habits and, well, eating when I'm bored. Does anyone else eat when they're bored?
I don't think a teacher can be sued for that kind of thing, though my school allows kids to have fidget spinners if they have a doctor's note. There aren't a lot of kids with doctor's notes, though, as you can imagine.

I haven't really had an official "final" yet, though a lot of my teachers had tests that they said were final, but really those were just normal tests at the end of the year.
Tests suck in general, though, especially since I can't study. I mean, who has time to sit around and re-read notes, go over flashcards, and/or quiz yourself? This is why one needs a fidget spinner. I can't sit still at all. I re-cross my legs in class almost every minute to keep myself occupied during lectures.
Also, I see it as a waste of paper to make a bunch of flashcards that you are just going to recycle at the end of year. This means that I have a brand-new pack of flashcards sitting in my locker at the end of the year. Yay.

@mastergemma

Oooh, I defiantly want to go to Australia. I've been daydreaming about it for a while, though probably for a... "childish" reason (kangaroos). I've been to a lot of countries, but not Australia, of course. When I was younger I used to confuse Australia and Austria, so...
Haven't been to Canada, either. Wonder how that's like?

fidget spinners are like a plauge... one kid had one in my class... then two had fidget spinners... then four... then eight... and so on. Plz don't hate me, but I kinda like fidget spinners. It actually kinda helps me to have something to fidget withπŸ˜‹ but i don't have a fidget spinner (yet😊)

I'm glad the fidget spinners work for you. I prefer doodling myself to help with both stress and when I feel like I am going to go crazy from sitting still. But to each his own 😊 I have always needed to do something with my fingers when I think, I guess that's why I play the piano. But somehow, the spinners don't really do it for me personally.

And about the eating when bored: YES. One of my worst habits. I graze. It doesn't help that I have a killer sweet tooth.

Tests honestly scare me. I wish that they would evaluate our performance over the year more and have less high stakes tests. But then it would be harder to know what we ended up with I guess.

I think that's a good idea. 😊 It would make more sense to test someone on how well they do over the year than just a couple of giant tests.

Welp, rant coming on. πŸ˜‹

Personally, I don't think tests actually test our intelligence or comprehension. They test how well one can memorize facts, which are just funneled out of our brain after the test, anyway. If you remembered every single thing on every single test you ever took, there would be a lot of useless information. I'm sure you can think of a few.

Honestly, scaring and stressing out students isn't good, and it shouldn't be necessary to study for hours in order to get a good grade on a test. I think, instead, that tests should be about problem solving and how well you can apply facts/information to a question. Information, of course, would be given on the test itself and the tester would use that information to solve a real life problem. In real life, you have all the information you need, right? So why would you need to memorize that ish?

Grades. If grades aren't the level of one's intelligence, then why do we feel as though it is? Grades shouldn't matter as much as they do, yet our entire life depends on good ones. Colleges look at GPA averages and SAT scores and top colleges only take the "best of the best". How do these numbers determine someone's skills and abilities? Simple: they don't. How can you say that the person next to me is smarter than I only because he has a 4.0 and I have a 3.0? Intelligence cannot be measured. We are human beings with complex brains, not machines or pigeons.

We stress about getting good grades, getting a good score, yet the tests fail on so many levels. Why only have written tests? Who says there is only one right answer (excluding maths)? Pressure to do well and the stress it causes only gives students more anxiety and may even affect test scores!

If this system works for you, congratulations. But for the rest of us, this system isn't working and needs to change.

Welp, long story short, it doesn't. I mean I do okay, but barely and while feeling stressed out the whole time. High school is the worst. It feels like they are saying "Ok everyone, you are done with elementary and middle school, now we are going to teach you totally new concepts while putting all of your grades on the transcript your college will see."

ARGH. I don't want my future balanced on a C I got in biology lab!

Pardon the bad grammar, writing on a phone.

Also, grammar... well that's another rant. I'm not going to correct every word anyone says, but I think that it is stupid that they hardly or don't teach it in most schools these days. It is still expected in most areas of life, even things like applying for a job.
