@ugena Hey welcome to the club! I just joined yesterday, actually xD Cool, your first language is French? I'm learning it at school ^^
After around 1 year, seeing this club loads of times and debating whether to join or not, I finally have 😸 And I definitely don't regret it!

I finally know the difficulty of University life *cries with you* You have a farm, that's amazing! Woodpeckers, awesome! I live near some plant farms (manure season is horrible) and sometimes you see the odd kangaroo or fox (foxes are rare for suburban areas though). I remember once there was a goat. a GOAT. In town. I don't even know what happened to it but it was a goat running through the front gardens of all the neighbours being herded by all the school kids. It was amazing.

I was in the same boat when I decided to join too XD
I was one of the new players and decided to join this and ye olde Zodiac Club (it's a shame that it didn't last :/ ).

Man it's starting to get chilly down in the Southern Hemisphere XD The rain doesn't help but it could be worse, we could have snow like the American winter. I wonder what El Nino has in store for us this time!

The cold is always nicer than the heat, I find it easier to live in and we can always have more blankets! But taking the bus in the cold is a little annoying.



Argh there's these birds that land on my window sill and I always try to photograph them but because of my curtains and the position of the sun, the images are always horrible! All I want to do is take pictures of my favourite species of bird, the flame robin ❤️

Yea, I know how you feel. I just can't make myself study, especially if I know I have to, it's all just too much, but I'm doing my best. Hope you do well with your essay. What is it about? C:

I'm still not sure what would I call him/her. If the bird will be female, I think name Astra is nice.

Flame robins are beautiful ^-^ We leave bird food on our balcony, especially during the winter, and all kinds of birds come by. There are sparrows, doves, finches, pigeons and some kinds that I don't know.

I don't know, I haven't started (oh university life, I hate thee)... I'm doing some chemistry first since it's due tomorrow (yay, even assignments are due on the weekend).

But it's for Archaeology and I need to talk about the taphonomy of Calusa and Magrove Creek, how the cultural and natural factors affect the left over evidence of past civilizations.

Or, I can talk about the survey methods used at Oaxaca Valley and how different survey strategies would have altered the project.

The only problem is that I need to write around 2000 words and I know I won't be able to. Well, I'll start tomorrow morning, I'll finish chem and then go to bed.


Astra, nice! If I ever get a dark coloured bird, I would call it Cooro or Coora, based off the main character of +Anima who is able to change into a bird. It's such a beautiful manga, I wish it had an anime ❤️

I'd love to put bird feed on mi windowsill but it would be too much of a hassle (double-story house and the window doesn't open)

Chemistry and maths are my favorite subjects (but I'm only 8th grade so I think that'll change xD).

Wow, you really have a lot to do, I really wish you the best of luck, concentration and inspiration. Essays are something I'm the worst at, so I understand the feeling.

I haven't read +Anima, but I love to read manga. I'll check it out ^-^ And Cooro is really nice name. How is it pronounced? 😃

What's the most difficult thing in chemistry so far? I'm currently studying ideal gases and it's not too difficult, it just takes time.

Well, chemistry isn't hard for me, we're just doing the basics for now. Last thing we did is proteins; what are they made of, their properties (is that the right word? I'm not English so not sure what to put there xD), what they do in our body, enzymes, etc. It's interesting ^-^

Yeah that's the word. Don't worry, the English language is impossible to master. There's so many loopholes in the grammar that it's a joke!

Hahaha, I just demonstrated a loop hole by accident. "Joke" a word that in context means that it is funny, or that it's not funny. Auto-antonyms are so fun -_-

I don't know xD It's how our student books were written, maybe we're just learning some things that are more simple and we'll learn them again in year 10, but with more details etc.

Yeah, English is easy to learn, but hard to master xD Luckily, we have internet and I can use it every day thanks to that and practice 😸

Do you speak some other languages than English? ^-^

I did learn Italian early in high school but now it's not that good. I know a little Japanese and Korean (enough Korean for people to look at me in awe... one sentence and a few words).

But one day I would like to know multiple languages, they are all so beautiful!

I speak Croatian and Italian, other from English. I'm in middle school right now, but in september I'll start high school. I'd like to continue learning Italian, but most of the schools I want to get in only offer German or French as third language :/

I love languages and I would like to learn more, I'm trying to learn Japanese. I'm learning first grade kanji and I know most of the hiragana 😸

Where did you learn Japanese and Korean? Did you take courses or are you self taught? ^-^

Yes, it is unbelievable and thrilling to see the club still around three years later with diversed and wonderful people who all love birds. 😃

You were one of the first members of the club when I started it and you wouldn't imagine how excited I am that you are with us. Most don't know how much you put into helping me spread the news of the club and invited egg cavers to join. The ideas and general suggestions that are still a part of the club's success.

You should feel real special because you were just as happy as I was, helped with making everyone feel a part of the club and with our first activities.

It is so interesting in how it seems like only yesterday but so ecstatic you said yes when it was something I wanted to do and together we opened the club. Thank you very much for trusting it would work.

LOL I keep the heater on blast in the winter and the air conditioner on high but energy saving during the summer. 😃

Ahhh, it's been so long since I last posted in this club! I hope everyone is doing well! ❤️

Anyways, congratulations on the 3rd year anniversary, while other clubs have formed and gone but BOAF still stays strong!!! I have so many fond memories of this club and I hope I can continue to be apart of this. But, Wow, three year though! How nostalgic I feel like it can actually bring a tear to my eye. It's been a thrill being with you guys C:

I normally try and not put the air con on during the summer. But then I do have a pool so that's a reason. But then my older sisters do like to have the air con on which defeats the purpose of having a swim instead.

I joined a Facebook group that specializes in aurora australis and if I see anything pop up that is worth mentioning, I'll be sure to spread the word before kidnapping someone to take me driving out to a less light-polluted area (the curse of not having a full licence yet).
