"I can walk home, thank you very much." she said. "And I'm not going to stay around just for some free stuff when you could change your mind and kill me at any second."

She stood up from the table, finished her meal.

"Thank you for the meal, but I'm leaving."

Before he got the chance to say anything, she walked to the front door and left. She stood outside, taking a deep breath.

She had to move quickly. She knew better than to think Vladan was just going to let her get away from him like that. He didn't like not getting his way, but what choice did she have?

She pulled out her phone and turned on the maps app. She wasn't as familiar with this part of town and she needed the quickest route home...

Vladan watched silently as Kita stood up and left. He tapped his fingers slowly on the table, calling out to the waiter for a check. It was a shame that the woman had left on such a short notice, but it didn't matter to him--well that's what he said to himself. Kita had left a lasting impression, and no doubt he would try to find her again. But his stubborn refusal to contact her first would probably be his ultimate downfall.

Vladan wondered fleetingly if she would think of him again, or even if the woman enjoyed her time with him. Perhaps she would get occasional reminders of the man when she saw a newspaper or turned on the television.

"Oh dear." Vladan muttered to himself. He needed to clear up the issue from last night. The man paid the bill, before heading out the door, wondering silently if Chloe would follow him or decide to go on her way as well.

Once he was in his vehicle, the man pulled out his phone(he owned more than one) and dialed an all too familiar number.

"I'd like you to clear up the issue from last night. I got into a street fight, and I would love if you could ask the newspapers and reporters to change it up a bit. I'd prefer to be the hero, fending off a strange figure that had been trying to steal my bag. Make sure you make my name a synonym for heroic, because I would hate to taint my reputation with a small street scuffle like that."

Chloe didn't know where to go. She could go back to her apartment or follow Vladan. Chloe got up and went into the woman's bathroom. After making sure no one was there. She changed into a human, wearing her casual clothing. The woman walked out of the restaurant, and saw Vladan in his car. She walked up to him and got into the passenger seat. Once he was off the phone, she turned to look at him.
"You need to control your anger, you know. It's the reason Kita is scared of you. I can smell it. Every time she is around you, I can smell fear on her."

Kita stepped into a coffee shop. She'd just eaten, but she needed to sit down. She ordered a drink and sat at a table in the back corner. There was a television playing the news nearby, so she sipped her coffee and watched as the weather guy predicted further rain for the rest of the week.

They went back to the news anchor, who cracked some forced joke about the rainfall that made Kita groan inwardly, then proceeded to the next story...

"In other news, a prominent local businessman was attacked in what appears to have been an attempted robbery early yesterday afternoon..."

Kita almost choked on her drink. Her full attention was now on the television.

"...CEO was on a walk in East Lake park when he was attacked by an unidentified assailant. Witnesses say that Vietkov was able to defend himself against the attacker, but the attacker escaped arrest. Local police are looking for help in capturing this person. She is described as.."

Panic seized her. That little...

Calmly, she stood up and proceeded towards the door. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a young couple looking at her, then at the television, where the anchor was describing her. The girl pulled out her phone.

Kita bolted.

"I do control my anger." Vladan muttered bitterly. "In fact, I hide it very well in public." He started up his car before turning towards Chloe. "Where do you want to go?" The man questioned blandly. "I have to drop something off at a club later today, but other than that there's nothing else." The man rolled down the windows, allowing the crisp morning air to roll inside the car.

He put his left hand on the steering wheel, and then placed his right hand on Chloe's thigh--in what he thought was a smooth gesture. "I can buy you anything you want." Vladan stated in a low voice. Though he had drank only the small cocktail he had ordered at the restaurant, it was a bit stronger than he had expected.

The man narrowed his eyes at the car in front of him, wondering if he could somehow make it home without crashing another car. He liked to believe drunk driving was his specialty, he had done it more often than not. Anywho, he only had a little bit, and considered himself barely tipsy.

Chloe took his hand off her thigh. "Just drop me off your house. I don't need you to buy me anything." She noticed how he looked at the car in front of them. This was going to be a long car ride. Chloe wished she had brought a barf bag just in case.

Jean ducked her head as a glass sailed over her, shattering on the stone wall behind her. Resisting the urge to storm off the shabby stage, she continued to sing, her voice barely faltering. Although she didn't particularly care for the criticism she received (mostly from intoxicated patrons), she loved to sing at the club. In fact, it was probably the only redeeming part of her job.

The jazzy tune filled the smoky room, transporting her mind away as she belted out the sultry lyrics. Her focus was fixed at the back of the room, not meeting gazes with anyone in particular. Though she did notice as the man who had thrown the glass was escorted out by one of the more burly managers.

Jean tossed her hair and moved towards the band in slow strides. As the music swelled once more, she grabbed the shoulder of the trumpet player - she believed his name was Mark - and ad-libbed some words as he solo-ed.

This brought fresh applause from the individuals sitting at the tables nearest the stage. She continued to move about the stage, pausing near the front briefly to make a couple flirty gestures (anything for a bigger tip). Until finally the song ended. Giving a gentle wave to the crowd, Jean walked down the steps, and took up her apron from the vacant chair that she had placed it on. As she tied it, she checked her watch. Only an hour left in her shift.

She sighed, almost silently. Hoping that there wouldn't be any trouble during the remainder of her shift, so that she would be able to leave on time.

When Kita stopped running, she was back in the park, exactly where the whole mess had begun. She sat at a bench, her foot throbbing. Why couldn't she have a useful power... like healing or flight?

She suddenly understood the full weight of her situation. She was wanted by the police... all because she had tried to do the right thing and retrieve the stolen goods and picked a fight with the wrong guy...

And if she was apprehended, who were the police going to believe? The influential business man, or the girl with no real ties to anyone, influential or otherwise...

She was going to kill that little creep if she found him... This was all his fault...

Once Vladan had somehow gotten both Chloe and himself safely back to his home, he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. "Make sure there's no trouble. I have a few men coming over later to take and repair the car, the keys should be on the dining table. I trust that you will not try anything shady. Otherwise, you should be free to roam and do as you please. I kindly ask that you do not break anything of knock anything over. I might be home late today, so it would be especially wonderful if you can go out to the back and feed the alligator, along with the dogs--and Odilia."

After almost barfing several times, Chloe was glad to get back on solid land. She climbed out of the car.
"Yeah, yeah I know. Don't worry about the animals, I got it. And, hey, try not to get to drunk tonight ok? I might be busy to night." Chloe walked into the house and went to the fridge. She pulled out a large steak and headed toward Odilia's room. After feeding her, Chloe feed the alligator and the dogs. The whole time she took care of the animals, Chloe couldn't get one sentence that Vladan had said out of her head. 'I trust that you will not try anything shady.' Did he know what she was planning to do? She didn't think so. Chloe didn't think Vladan of all people would call stealing shady.

It wasn't long before he had rolled up to the club. Vladan came here often, but not for drinks. He preferred high class bars over this rathole, but those usually--if not always had reporters swarming outdoors ready to take a intoxicated celebrity's picture and ruin their reputation. However this was a popular place, with just enough people for his meeting to probably go without notice.

The man stepped past the bouncer, his briefcase in hand. Though the man was questioned silently at his classy outfit that differed from most everyone else's classy wear, he had managed to get in without issue. Vladan took a seat in the corner front, several feet away from the stage. He ordered a few drinks, and stared at his watch constantly as he waited for somebody to show up. The briefcase he had placed under the table had contained all the jewelry stolen from the day before, and once he had gotten them off his back, he was free to go for now.

Vladan's eyes ventured to the stage, and he sipped his drink accordingly. The woman singing wasn't particularly bad, and he watched in distaste as objects were thrown at her. He respected the fact that she continued her job, voice flowing almost as smoothly as if she was on a fancy concert stage. The man noticed that she was overall avoiding eye contact with the crowd, and he supposed it was only smart for her to do so. Vladan however, attempted anyway to catch her attention with his silent stare.

He honestly believed that she could do so much better than this scummy club, but in today's society, climbing the social ladder out of poverty was made difficult due to the economy and social stratification. As the song ended, he watched as she stepped off the stage and pulled an apron over her clothes. Vladan made to wave at the waitress(once singer), and he shifted his glance towards his watch.

The man he was supposed to be meeting up with should be here soon, and once the deal was sealed and the briefcase transferred, Vladan was ready to leave this place.

Jean went back to work, taking several orders for the bar foods which they served there. While returning with a tray of chicken wings for a group of particularly rowdy group of men, who seemed to be having a bachelor party, she took notice of a young man sitting at one of the tables. Although she had only been working at this club for a few days, Jean had become accustomed to seeing the same type of lowlife patrons fill the seats. But this man was different.

He was tastefully dressed and carried himself in a very dignified manner. Moving to clear a nearby table, she took the opportunity to get a better look at the unfamiliar man. Getting closer, she noticed a briefcase under his table. Trying not to get caught staring, she lowered her gaze to the tray that she had begun piling glasses on.

Jean made a mental note to ask Lorraine about him after her shift. Picking up the tray, she moved past the man, towards the back of the club, casting one last curious glance the odd man.

Vladan managed to catch the waitress's eye as she rushed past him. Sadly it had only been for a split second before she had turned around again, and the man couldn't succeed in reading her thoughts. Not too long after the woman had left his sight, a burly man sat down across from Vladan. His visitor was wearing a t-shirt and casual pants, and Vladan greeted the newcomer with a short nod.

He picked up the briefcase and placed it on the surface of the table, though he kept his arm on top of the rectangular container. Vladan shifted his gaze up into the opposing man's heavily tattoo'd face. He casually read the other's thoughts and a short frown tilted his lips downwards. Were they planning to ambush him, just because he had missed last night's delivery?

"Everything is in here, no need to check." Vladan spoke clearly over the yelling crowd. He couldn't afford to get attacked again, and so soon at that. The man stood and placed a hand on the opposing man's shoulder, somehow forcing the brute to stare him straight in the eyes.

"I know that you have people outside, ready to attack me the second I leave." He whispered. His partner flinched and reached up, grabbing Vladan's wrist. "Stop." Vladan ordered, forcing his gaze to stay on the opposing man's brown eyes. "Call your men off. Let them know that the business deal went according to plan, and the delay was just a simple misunderstanding that did nobody any harm."

Vladan's eyes shifted slowly from their normal, misty navy color to an dark, bloody red--caused by the use of his mind control powers. "Sound plausible?" He questioned, and watched as the other man's grip released from his wrist. The response was almost immediate.

"Yes."

"Go now, I'd hate to be caught around a thug like you."

Vladan waited for the man to leave with the black briefcase, and he dropped back into his seat with a relieved sigh. The man lifted up a hand to his eyes and dropped his elbows from the table to his knees. He rubbed his eyes roughly, the burn from using his power was excruciating, and tears slipped from the corner of his eyes. His hunched position no longer gave off the aristocratic aura he had once given.

"It hurts so much." Vladan whispered weakly as teardrops continued to slip out of the corner of his rose colored pupils. The aftereffects of using his manipulation usually lasted for hours, sometimes even days. His garnet eyes were usually a dead giveaway that he had used his abilities, and though only a few people have noticed his color changing eyes, he often played it off as nothing.

Kita briefly glanced over at the girl who'd sat down beside her. She kept her head down to avoid being recognized again.

She pulled out her phone and called up a nearby motel. She doubted the police knew who she was yet, so her apartment was probably safe, but she didn't want to risk it.

She wished she had gotten Vladan's number, if only to give him an earful for getting her into this mess. He was the one breaking the law, so why was she the one taking a fall for it?

Money. That was it.

The motel lady sounded thoroughly unpleasant, but she was the least of her problems... She booked a room, letting the lady know she would arrive later that evening to check in, which was followed by an affirmative grunt on the other end of the line and a click as she abruptly hung up.

Kita sighed and leaned back on the bench.

"Nothing." She lied. She wasn't big on telling people her problems, and telling her the truth would mean telling her that the police were looking for her, and she might just turn her in herself, and that wasn't an ideal situation...

Chloe typed quickly on a laptop she had found, hoping Vladan wouldn't mind. It wasn't like her computer at home, but it was defiantly more advanced. Venus was resting with her head to her knees decided to steal food today, having not ate yesterday at all, now is the day to feed herself. She changed into her villain clothing and walked out of the alleyway. She ran towards a grocery store and started to smile at the clerk kindly. There was a little deli, no one was attending at it right now, so she snuck behind the counters and took some fishes and placed them in a bag, quietly. She heard footsteps behind her, and turned around, eyeing the people aggressively.
"Hey!" they pointed her shouting. "What are you doing behind here?! You're not one of the workers!"
Venus pounced on the girl in there who was yelling at her, she kicked at the girl in the head grabbing the bag running away. Soon they were chasing her in the huge market. Venus created sleet and ice behind her so she won't be easily, growling at them she kept running.

Willow grimaced at the blood seeping out of the deep incision on her patient's chest. She hadn't bothered to ask the secretary what had happened, because it didn't matter to her. Her hands hovered over the cut and Willow attempted to fit her slender fingers inside, but the gash simply wasn't large enough. Willow picked up the knife once more, carefully using the tool to pull apart the skin. Now, she could make out the torn muscles and damaged veins inside the wound.

With a wince, the woman inserted her hand inside her patient's body, tears forming out of the corner of her eyes. Willow stared intently at the mass of bloody organs, forcing herself to blink the liquid out of her blurring sight. She grimaced at the sight of the blood seeping freely from the laceration, and she waved off the duo by her side. One was a nurse, and the other a doctor--her trusted assistants.

"I've got it handled from here." Willow said with a smile, though they couldn't see the bottom half of her face through her surgical mask. Knowing the routine, the two exited the room, each performing a small bow. Past the small glass window of the door, she could see the two guarding the entrance. The woman pulled off her gloves, placing them carefully on the small table besides the patient's bed. She then put her bare fingers on the mess of muscles and bloody skin. Willow could feel her breakfast coming up, but she forced it back down. Normally, she didn't eat before her procedures, but she was too polite to decline a meal from a friend.

A swirling white vapor trailed from her outstretched fingers into the patient's open wound, dancing along the severed organs and clean cuts. Slowly, but surely, blood stopped flowing from the sliced skin and muscle as they gradually stitched itself back together. Willow rubbed her hand over the fresh layer of skin--there would be no scar. Though the procedure lasted 10 minutes at max, she remained in the room for the full duration of the hour.

Willow breathed out a sigh of relief, then choked on her breath. The woman rushed over to the sink, washing the blood off her hands quickly. Once her hands were cleaned off, she collapsed on the floor in a coughing fit. She barfed into the metal sink. Willow had never been a fan of gore, but she did what she had to. In fact, the woman was even afraid of germs and blood.
