The Beasts Academy Roleplay

Luna grinned, Lal wasn’t wrong, those cookies were good! She looked out of the window as the carriage slowed and she couldn’t believe what she saw.
“Is this actually the place? How? It’s so big I’ll get lost and never find my way out!”
She tried to laugh but the nervous feeling was kicking in again.

I peek out the window too. I see all the beasts, and I feel excitement bubble up. "It'll be okay. We'll stick together, then we can get lost together," I say. "Besides, they'll probably show us around." I don't hesitate to step out. This place was big, sure, but the Knights Academy had been big as well. I was pretty confident that I'd be able to find my way around pretty quickly. I nodded at Headmaster Audelia and went into the back to grab my bag. I stay put and wait for Luna. I wondered what the dorms would look like. Would I share a room with the other boys? I wasn't used to sharing my room. I hoped they weren't messy. I liked to keep my room neat and tidy. My thoughts went a mile a minute.

Luna smiled. She’d found someone who would stick by her side, she knew she’d never get tired of him. She spotted the beasts and her heart skipped a beat. She stood to leave, she nearly fell over, shaking.
“This can’t be real, I-I’m going to spend years at this place? I already love this!”
She squealed and jumped with her fists clenched to her chest.

Yoshi yawned and stretched as she woke. Somehow she had slept through all the chattering. Looking out the window, her heart almost skipped a beat. She had arrived; the place where she could start a new life. Smiling to herself, she heaved her army bag on and stepped of the carriage.

I stood next to Luna and scanned the area again. I smile when I saw a few lakes in the distance. I'd have to go check those out someday. "This place is pretty awesome! I mean, look at all the beasts, and the nature, and the buildings!" I say, nodding. I was just as excited as her. There was a huge smile on my face. Looking at all the wonderful beasts, I couldn't wait until I was able to be paired with mine.

Luna walked to the side of Lal.
“The beasts..... one will actually be paired with me? Who can trust me?”
She was tempted to run up to them and free them. Was it right to keep them here like this? They’re wild right? She’d take hers outside everyday. They need to be free.
“Is it okay for them to be here though? They’re wild right? Or will they not survive on their own?”

"Hm, well Gareth taught me a little bit about the beasts and the Academy. They capture wild beasts that get to close to the villages or harm the others. As the Chosen, we get paired with a beast and have to tame them," I say. I never thought about whether or not what the Academy was doing was okay. I point at the beasts that were loose with their pairs. "The beasts we will be paired with are probably caged up for now. Seeing how the older Chosen are with their beast, I'm guessing we'll be allowed to take them out and let them run around once we tame them. Everyone seems happy and okay with being here. If they weren't happy, they'd probably have run away."

(Just to make sure everything is clear, the beasts that are out are the older Chosen's beasts. Our beast characters are still caged up in the stables out of sight.)

Luna smiled she understood. They didn’t want to leave. Neither did she. She shivered when it wasn’t even cold.
“When are we going to be able to go in? I’m dying!”
She giggled and sat on the ground picking daisies from the grass.

She looked out the window and feels like she could cry. There were older chosen and their beasts everywhere. It looked like someplace she could finally call home. "Hey," she tapped the girls knee. "You have to see this..."

My face brightened. "Oh my!" The beasts were beautiful, the nature was lovely. This place was already wonderful. I pause. What if-I shake my head. No what-ifs. I am going to smile and be happy here. The carriage stops. I hop out.

Patience-
Alina taps my knee. I look out the window. "Oh god!" There were a crowd, there were beasts, there were beautiful landscapes I could draw, but there were so many smells. I drink more tea.

Asteria~
The headmaster startled me out of my book. I hastily pack it away and slowly grab my items. It took a bit of maneuvering to get myself sorted and out, but the view was incredible. It was shiny and amazing, but I still did not want to be here. I looked for the beasts and saw several, but most were happy. It looked like they did not share my sentiments. I remembered that most, if not all the beasts we would be taming had made news when they were caught, some due to their rarity and all due to their potential for destruction. I looked away from the beasts. I didn't know what I'd even do with one.

Felix steps out of the carriage with a sigh of relief. The tension in the carriage over that two hour ride nearly suffocated him. He grins and waves at the cheering crowd members as he waited for the others to get their stuff. He had no luggage to speak of, but he wouldn't let that get him down. Despite the fact that he didn't get along well with some of the other Chosen, he was finally at Beast Academy! Life would get better!

Mikel exits the carriage and grabs his bags. He sees the crowd of people waiting for them with their beasts. He looks at all the different beasts and feels slightly intimidated. There is no way I'll be able to tame one of those.

Ali stepped out of the carriage and moved shyly behind the knight so her arm was behind him. She wasn't totally hidden but it helped give her some strength. She straightened out and took a deep breath careful not to touch the knight. She looked at the beasts and wondered what would be hers. She fingered her axe for strength.

“Oh, I think we’re leaving now, Moon,” I say. I notice there was another girl behind me. I turn around and smile at her. She seemed a little nervous. I notice her axe. Wow, that was a cool weapon. I lay a hand on the hilt of my sword. I still preferred the sword to the axe, though. I felt more free when I fought with a sword than an axe. Headmaster Audelia and the other 3 gather us up. “Follow me. I’ll take you to our dorms, and give you a quick tour while we’re at it.”



The other Chosen finally grab all their stuff. The 4 adults gather us in a group and begin to take us away from the crowd. I relax more as the commotion is behind us. Headmaster Audelia gives us a quick tour. She shows us where all the buildings are located, takes us inside the school part of the main building, and even shows us where our beasts’ stable was located. She didn’t let us go in. “We still have to create the pairs for the beast, but first thing tomorrow we’ll take you to come and meet your beast,” she promised. I stared at the stable curiously. In there was a beast I would be taming and spending a lot of my time with. I… wasn’t sure how I felt about that. I was really only here to get away from my family, not to make any friends.

She finally leads us to our dorm. The building that had all the Chosen’s dorms in it was large, but not near as large as the main building. She holds the door open for us. I follow Maliha and Mircea as they walk down the hallway to our dorm. They stop us in front of a room on the second floor. The door was opened. “Go on in,” Maliha says, in her excitable manner. Mircea hands us each a key as we pass by him. I pocket mine and survey the room. Right now, we appeared to be in a living room type area. It was actually quite large, as far as dorms go. I guess they wanted us to be comfortable. The living room had comfortable looking couches. There were bookshelves that were pretty empty. I guess it would be our job to fill it. There was also a container with board games and a deck of guards. The room was very bright with natural light. There were a few large windows. I quickly peeked out them and saw a lake and beyond that some forests. Nice view. Leading from the living room was a decent sized kitchen. It had all the appliances we needed to make meals. There was a long table with just enough seats for us all. The table already had food on it. I saw steam rise from the food. I was guessing it was our dinner for the day.

Headmaster Audelia walks in. “The rest of the day will be all about unpacking and settling in as well as getting to know your new teammates. The boy’s bedroom is over there and the girl’s bedrooms are on that side. There are two separate bedrooms for the girls, because there are more girls than boys. There are 4 beds in each of the girl’s room.” She pauses to let us absorb what she says. “On the table, you will find forms. I ask that you fill these forms after dinner. They are to get measurements for your uniforms. You can also request clothes if you don’t have any.” At her last statement, I realized it wasn’t uncommon for people off the streets be chosen. I guess I’d have to request for clothes. “Well, good evening. I’ll see you tomorrow morning. Maliha and Mircea will stay with you for the night in case you need anything.” Maliha smiles and waves. Mircea… doesn’t do anything. He seemed like a serious type. Headmaster Audelia and Vice Fritz leave the room.

“Well, you can go claim your rooms now!” Maliha says. “When your done, come eat!” She smiles at us, practically bouncing on her toys. I roll my eyes at her excitement. She should show more restraint, like Mircea was doing. Still, I hurry to the second girl’s room. I open the door and step inside. It was large. There were four beds. Each space had a dresser, some room to decorate, and some room to just sit or mess around with. At the end of the room was a hang out area. There was another book shelf, some beanbags, a couch, and a desk. It seemed like a cute part of the room. I walk to the end of the room and claim a bed right next to the window. It overlooked the lake. I didn’t have much of anything to unpack, so I take a few minutes to look out the window at the lake.

(Sorry guys that was a lot of information. If you have any questions about how things look or anything, feel free to ask them.)

To avoid confusion, I will keep a list of who is in which bedroom and update it as they get settled in. So far, this is what it looks like:

Girl’s Room 1:
Bed 1: Luna
Bed 2: Asteria
Bed 3: Unclaimed
Bed 4: Patience

Girl’s Room 2:
Bed 1: Agnimitra
Bed 2: Yoshino
Bed 3: Unclaimed
Bed 4: Clythia

Boy’s Room:
It doesn’t really matter, since they’re all in the same room. No confusion there.

“This bed is claimed! Wait, are the rooms private? Can boys come in too or is that not allowed?”
She jumped and spread her arms on the bed and laughed
“I’m going to spend my life here! Scrap the beasts, this bed is so comfy!”

"We're sharing rooms?" Mikel mutters. He was hoping to at least be able to find peace and quiet when he slept. He drops his bags down by a bed in the corner.

Yoshi stormed into her assigned room. Looking around she froze. An elf(Agnimitra) stood by the first bed. Breathing heavily, her heart beating rather fast with fright. Trying not to show fear, she chucked her bags onto bed #2... right next to the elf. There was no turning back now. Taking a deep breath she sat down on her bed, her back facing the elf.

She heard the human girl, Luna’s, question and walked in to answer it. “Nope, the boys aren’t allowed in. Just like you aren’t allowed in their room,” She replies. She smiled at Luna’s happiness about her new room. She loved it when others were happy.





I turn from looking outside when I see a half-elf come in. I watch her. She was breathing hard and looked a little nervous or scared. What was she scared of? She sits on her bed and turns so her back was to me. Surely, she couldn’t be scared of me? I might have been an elf, but there was no reason to be scared of me. Elves weren’t known to be dangerous and, well, beast-like. We were just more powerful than the others. I decide not to bother with the girl. If she was nervous around me, she wouldn’t try to be my friend. That was what I wanted. I grab my knap sack and take out the one outfit I had. It was a little beat up now. I put it in my dresser anyway.





I walk into my room. There was another human already in it. I smile at him. “Hi!” I say. He had claimed the bed in the corner, so I take the one next to his. There were three beds in this room, and then a spacey hang out corner (the boy’s room looks just like the girl’s room, except more boyish, I guess… That sounded a little stupid). I had taken the middle bed. I place my bag on the bed and begin to take out my clothes. I put them neatly in my dresser.

“Finally a chance to get away from boys! Though Lal is cool, he’s really kind actually. You should be really glad it have people like him here!”
She opened her case and spread it over the floor, trying to find a place it would fit.

"Hello." Mikel replies. He wasn't really in the mood for talking right now. He glances over a the remaining bed. It probably belonged to that elf boy. Mikel shudders at the thought of having to share a room with him.

Felix opens the door to the boy's dorm and walks in. He sees the human boy he had argued with and scowls. He walks over to the remaining bed and plops down, crossing his arms and glaring at the human boy. Just his luck that all the boys would be forced to room together.

I enter the first girl's room tentatively and choose a bed that was seemingly more isolated from the rest. It was at the end of the room, close to a bookshelf. While the bookshelf had space for me to put my books, I decided to wait. If my roommates ruined them... I also found a window next to my bed that overlooked a forest. The windowsill held some adorable tiny flowers that looked to be a bit under-watered.
I was very happy to find that there were curtains that could be drawn to hide the bed from view for privacy. I began to unpack, and kept to myself.

I step into the second girls bedroom. I claim the bed nearest the bookshelves (Bed 4), I needed a source of reading material close by. There was a half-elf and an elf in the room with me. "Hello!" I wave to the both of them.

Patience-
The girl from earlier went into the first girl bedroom, so I followed. Two of the beds were already taken, so I chose the last bed(Bed 4). I put my bag down and started to unpack. The first thing I pulled out was a cup and a bottle of tea. I quickly poured out some and drank. My nerves slowly calmed down. I started to place clothing in a dresser, labeling them as I fold.

Yoshi jumped slightly at the sudden voice. She looked up to see a half-elf waving at her. Forcing herself to relax, she stood and forced herself to smile at the other girl. "Good morning, who may you be?" Yoshi said back.

Clythia... What a interesting name... Yoshi thought to herself. "They call me Yoshino. Yoshino Fidochi, at your service" she said, bowing slightly for that was the way she was taught to introduce herself to nearly everyone back at home base. She walked over to Clythia and reached out her hand for a handshake, "it's a pleasure to meet you," she said with a slight smile.
