⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀earned by completing Monthly Challenges (100 CC/month), or
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀receiving 500CC for free every July 20th (EggCave's Birthday) ❤️

Q #4: What is XC?
⠀⠀⠀Exchange Credits (XC) - points needed to avail visibility in the click exchange.
⠀⠀⠀The click exchange helps you hatch your pets quicker.

Q #5: Should I collect cave commons?
⠀⠀⠀I do not own any commons because most users (except commons hoarding accounts)
⠀⠀⠀would not prefer to trade for commons. But if you like them, please keep them!
⠀⠀⠀Just remember that there is a cove/account space limit of 500 creatures,
⠀⠀⠀& it is quite costly to buy expansion.
⠀⠀⠀Fun Fact: Terrons can only be obtained at exactly 3 AM ECT

Q #6: What are monthlies? Are they rare?
⠀⠀⠀Each month, EggCave releases four monthlies:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀····• 2 Cave monthlies which you can adopt for free
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀····• 2 Cash Shop monthlies that can be purchased there
⠀⠀⠀The cave tells you if you got a monthly pet from there.

⠀⠀⠀In the month they are released, they can be found in auctions for very low prices
⠀⠀⠀but when the month is over, they become retired/gone forever.
⠀⠀⠀Popular ones can be very valuable in the future.

Q #7: Can my creatures die? Can they become immortal?
⠀⠀⠀Yes and Yes!
⠀⠀⠀Your creature can die if it maintains 0-10% happiness.
⠀⠀⠀Keep them happy at Tim's Food Shoppe (100% happiness for a limited time).
⠀⠀⠀You can also buy a Leaf of Vaka (500 CC), which keeps happiness 100% forever!
⠀⠀⠀Creatures that reach Level 20 are immortal and won't die at 0% happiness.

Q #11: What does "feed friendly" (FF) mean? What are Feed Lists?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Some users do not want to have their pets fed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This is due to them wanting to keep their pets from evolving,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀to freeze them using the Essence of Litsdnats in the future.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀That is why they opt to not have anyone feed their pets at all or just have
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀a selection of pets fed on their cove list (aka Feed Lists). Cove lists explained below.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Look out for "feed friendly", "not feed friendly", or "feed list only" before feeding.

⠀⠀⠀Here's a brief overview on how to earn a token:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀1) Focus on a specific token to earn.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀- VEND pets each have a required # of specific tokens to gather.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀2) Click the specific quest on the tab (e.g. Baked Bun Quests)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀3) Click "Start Quest" and it will show items to obtain.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀These may be found in the respective shops that items can be bought from:

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀** Tip: You may also try asking for the item at the Quest Items Swapping Thread
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀** Tip: If an item costs over 20k EC, I usually cancel the quest to save money.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀** Tip: Don't be afraid to cancel a quest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀5) Once you have the items, make sure they're in your inventory.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Transfer strongroom items to your inventory.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀6) Go back to the quest page once both items are in your inventory.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀7) Click "I have it all!". Wait for 5 minutes to quest again for the same token.

Q #14: What are Cove Lists?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Cove Lists appear as tabs on your profile.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It allows you to group your pets into personalized categories.

Q #15: What are pings?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Pings are used in the forums to notify a user that you've mentioned them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Use @username and they'll receive a notification linked to that post.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Pings only work in the forums, not on user profiles.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀If you have to reply to a wall post, please post on the user's wall to notify them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Replying in your own wall is a common mistake! (I myself am guilty of this lol)

Q #16: How do I add another user as a friend?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Go to their profile, and below their featured creature there's an Options ˅ link.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A dropdown appears with an option to + Add Friend.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The user has to confirm before they are added to your friends list.

Q #17: How do I send an item to another user?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀First, make sure that the item is in your inventory (not in the strongroom).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Open your inventory and click on the item that you'd like to send.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Under the item's options, click on the send this item to a friend link.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀** Note that the item transfers are automatic and
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀do not require the other user to confirm the transfer.

Q #18: How do I send a creature to another user?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Cove > Transfer Requests > Create New Transfer
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀** Note that the other user has to accept your creature transfer request
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀before the creatures are removed from your cove.

Q19: How do I make a wishlist?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Wishlists are super helpful in trading! Here are ways to list them:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀1) Use Eggcavity (3rd party site made by @lbowe_elbow) url:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀https://eggcavity.com/wishlists/creatures

You can let newbies know that pets can be hatched quickly / instantly via the Cash Shop where you use Cave Cash to buy different amounts of feeds, clicks, and views.


I have an addition for Q: What are monthlies? Are they rare?
You can differentiate between each month's four monthlies — two are acquired in the Cave for free and two can be acquired in the Cash Shop for CaveCash.


I think you should have a section somewhere near the top that reads:
Q: What does "feed friendly" mean?
You can mention how users shouldn't necessarily jump into feeding any and every cove straight away. Encourage them to look for "feed friendly", "not feed friendly", or "only feed the feed list", and explain why this is important. I honestly think it's one of the most vital things to note about Egg Cave to newbies, because it doesn't inherently state it anywhere on any of EC's pages, nearly every user utilizes this phrase, and feeding is the main activity on Egg Cave. When I first started, I kept seeing it on profiles, but no one had explained it to me yet and I didn't ask. I assumed what it meant, seemed simple enough. I ended up typing "feed friendly" on my profile but I did create a feed list. What I meant then was that my feed list only was feed friendly, not my entire cove! I thought it just meant that at least part of your cove was okay to feed. When in actuality, it strictly only means the entire cove is feed friendly. Found out on my own after x amount of time lol.


I don't see FF (Feed Friendly) on OC's Egg Cave abbreviation guide, either.


These are just my suggestions, feel free to use your own discretion!

Also, I have a few suggestions for the "How do I quickly hatch my pets?" question. Only add them if you think they're good additions, though! Here are some things that caused me to get a lot more views + clicks + feeds on my creatures:

1) Making my entire cove feed-friendly, rather than having a feed list and telling people not to feed my entire cove. I use one of my sides to store creatures that I don't want to evolve.

2) I look for players who are actively feeding coves by checking the wall posts of various accounts and looking for recent posts that say "fed all" or "fed some." I then post on that player's wall saying that I'm going to feed their creatures.

@pinkhanni Be sure to take breaks between massive feeding sessions!
I would also suggest using a vertical mouse to prevent compressing your
median nerve (which causes carpal tunnel syndrome) 😊

Awesome guide! I was trying to figure out why I got pinged, and it was my super old guide about hyperlinking haha! I might end up making a new one, since colors were released after that, and how people could get fancy looking text on their profiles 😊 I'll let you know if I do end up making the guide

I would also like to mention that you can also use items to obtain stats, here's what I can recall:
Toys - give clicks
Books - give views
Food - give feeds

Plus, I think it would be good to mention that any items from the Bean Sack are not asked for in quests, same as trinket travels. Maybe also mentioning what trinket travels are too?

Another idea.. (I have so many lol), maybe a post on events? And how each one works? I know there was quite a few people confused how the Easter Egg hunt worked, and about the Gobbler Hunt in Nov 😊 I can help out with the events FAQ if you decide to do that

No trick, its just luck based. The chance of finding a creature at the asteroid is very low, so most visits will result in a failure.
