Silverstarr tryed touching the grey egg again,wanting to apoligize.
"Hello?I want to say sorry! Sorry I said something wrong! Please forgive me!" She called. "Please?."she felt alone like she did all her life. But worse.

"It's not really about that," the pearly egg insisted. Her voice was getting weaker. "It's just . . . I know you're not the one for me, and now I feel guilty for making you feel bad . . . but, really," she tried, "please go talk to one of the others."

The glowing egg did not respond.

"Don't take it personally," the man said, addressing Silverstarr. "If an egg dismisses you, it won't want to talk again. I would try one of the others," he encouraged with an attempt at a comforting smile.

The pearly egg squeaked, its egg wobbling more now. Suddenly, however, she seemed to decide that she'd had enough; the egg stilled, and the link between the two disappeared.

Anariel paused as she made her way towards the market, her attention caught by a large crowd of locals, all of whom seem to be clustered around one small gathering. It was too close to the outskirts to be the establishment of a new shop, yet too close to the town to be a travelling merchant.

How odd, she thought and, unable to resist the tempting call of figuring out this little conundrum, Anariel found herself moving slowly to the gathering. Upon reaching the outer ring of people, she carefully twisted herself this way and that until she broke free of the crowd and set her sights on what appeared to be a-

Dragon!

She gasped softly in amazement. She had never seen a dragon up close before.

Anariel took an unconscious step forward, she wanted desperately to move closer, to place her hand upon the dragon?s scales and see if they are as smooth as the stories have always claimed. But before she could fully formulate her request, her attention was diverted yet again by a peripheral sparkle.

She turned to glance at it inquisitively and bit back a squeak of happiness.

Dragon eggs.

This day just got better and better.

Anariel took a cautious glance around and eventually settled upon a man, standing proudly beside the dragon. Biting her bottom lip in apprehension, she slowly made her way to the rather imposing individual.

"Excuse me sir," she faltered, "would it be possible for me to touch one of the dragon eggs?"

The glowing egg responded with a gentle wash of heat. It was like stepping out of the cold morning and into a warm home; welcoming, comforting. Then, there was a humming noise, low and rich and full of life. "Greetings," a male voice said, his voice carrying every soothing quality that the heat possessed.

The man nodded once, black hair obscuring his eyes as he dipped his head. As he raised his head again, the light seemed to catch them just right; a dappled mix of blue and green, swirling like an ocean. They were kind, honest, and good-natured, yet somehow they also gave the impression of unspeakable power. He smiled, now, in an attempt to quell the girl's fears. "It would indeed," he replied, motioning for her to pass him and approach the eggs. "The best of luck to you."

Something about the cautious youth sparked nostalgia in the man. He turned to look at his dragon now, smile growing larger. 'Do you remember?' he asked, laying a hand on her neck. She hummed contentedly, gazing deeply at the eggs.

'I do,' she affirmed, voice airy and pleasant. 'You were such a mess back then.'

The man laughed silently, his smile stretching to a grin and his eyes twinkling. 'Times were awfully rough back then.'

Just conjugate the verbs differently. ^^ It doesn't change the meaning of things at all, it just reads more like a book.

"Hello," the glowing egg responded again. He did not seem inclined to add any more to that statement; instead, he hummed lightly to himself. The color of the glow from the egg grew deeper as his humming rose in pitch, and lighter as it fell, swimming with the song.

The glowing egg paused for a moment. His humming ceased as he thought about her question. "Well," he responded, "I could honestly be better." The heat of the egg diminished slightly. "That last girl has me feeling a bit upset."
