@bunnyshadow"That would be fun," he agreed warmly. Suddenly, he seemed to realize that he'd been doing all the talking. A bit self-consciously, he added, "Is there anything you've always wanted to do?"

Anariel found herself muttering a small squeak of surprise as a noise, not unlike a crackle, thudded across her eardrums, seemingly out of nowhere.'Oh dear', she thought to herself, feeling rather silly and hoping that the owner of the polite voice within the black egg did not feel the soft tremor that shook her hands briefly before she had time to calm her instinctive reaction. She tilted her head to the side as the voice answered and took a short moment to contemplate the other's words before replying."Please do not apologize," she murmured back, feeling rather sheepish, "it is I who assumed things beyond my knowledge. I had thought that you were already gifted with a name."She paused, then tentatively began again, "but if I may continue with that line of thought...how should I address you?"As she waited for an answer, Anariel allowed her gaze to wander quickly back to the man who had acquiesced to her request earlier. She thoughtfully contemplated both the man and the dragon, wondering if they would be very much offended if she asked to hear their story before they left the town. But, out of fear of insulting her current conversation partner, she quickly turned her full attention back to the egg in her hands.(( @silver_wingedI is going to take a shower, but I shall be back soon! Also, hopefully I'm not being too slow in terms of moving the plot along. ^^; ))

@sakura2596"Well," the pearly egg responded, "I . . . huh! That's a tough question!" She laughed again. "Not too much to do as a dragon in an egg. I like people, I suppose. Dragons and humans are nice to be around. I haven't met any elves or other creatures, but I would like to." She paused, trying hard for something to add. "I guess I also like to talk? Maybe too much?"@bunnyshadow"That's profound," the glowing egg responded softly. Otherwise, he seemed lost for words, but not uncomfortable with silence. He resumed humming, the rich tones of his voice as comforting as any lullaby. His hum was like the hum of the earth itself, vibrating deeply with life.
sakura2596 • 22 January 2012 at 1:56 AM
"Hmmmm, how about a more simpler question, what is your favorite color? It is a very commen question if you have not heard, mine is purple." Silverstarr told the egg.@silver_winged it really is,my WHOLE room is PURPLE!!!! PURPLE PATY! lol randomnes xD.
bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 1:59 AM
@silver_winged "How do you do that?", Sylvia asked, reffering to the humming.
sakura2596 • 22 January 2012 at 2:04 AM

@sakura2596 Good Night ^^
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 2:08 AM
@pastelfeathers"Dragon customs are often alien to the most learned of humans," he consoled, his underlying static hum switching tones to something calmer. "It is of no offense to me. For what it may be worth, dragon hatchlings are named by their mother and her rider, if she has one, after they have hatched. In this case, I am to be named by the dragoness and man that stand before you, and hopefully before the day is out." He paused momentarily, testing the color of her mind and his own. It seemed he had never before thought of what one would need to call him. "You may call me Dragon," he declared finally, "if it suits you."The cordial mannerisms of the young dragon were an odd quirk. Clearly, something compelled him to speak as he did, although whatever reason there was lay hidden--either within his subconscious or with the rest of the thoughts he consciously kept private. They seemed to grant him a measure of comfort, amongst all the strange humans that had approached him that day.
spiral • 22 January 2012 at 2:12 AM
'Is it funny,' the man asked his dragon, 'that I feel far, far older than thirty-one?' Though his gaze was fixed on the crowd, he seemed to see something else entirely.'If you were like most humans,' the dragon reminded him softly, 'your life would be more than halfway over. It is only natural.'As another youth approached, seeking audience with the eggs, the man had to come to focus again. They continued to speak, by loose interpretation of the word; it was more of an exchange of sentiments, strung together by a shred of memory or murmured word. 'I can only wonder who will come back with us today,' he added at a quiet moment. 'It could be any of these people.'@sakura2596"I don't know," the pearly egg responded in all honesty. She did seem interested, however. "Elidara told me color has to do with seeing, and I can't see. But I guess I'll know soon?"@bunnyshadow"Hm?" the glowing egg responded, taking a moment to realize what she was asking. "Oh; I'm not sure, really. It just feels right." He chuckled slightly. "Natural, you know."
bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 2:16 AM
@spiral / @silver_winged "Natural.. Just like my hair and eyes...", Sylvia said "but your ability is not a curse like mine."(Lolz cuz didnt people thonk anyone who looked different from them was a demon in the mideval times?)
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 2:29 AM
@bunnyshadow"I wouldn't call your ability a curse," the glowing egg said. "After all, it makes you who you are. Humans are interesting creatures, always wanting to change something about themselves." He paused. "At least, that's what the human told us. Forgive me if my assumption is incorrect."((Yep, pretty much. X3 It's a little different in the roleplay, though. Some villages (like the one my guy came from) are superstitious and don't like odd people; other big cities which receive a lot of multi-species traffic are much more accepting. It just depends on where you go!))
bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 2:34 AM
@silver_winged (HAAAAATCHHHH!!! D😊~~~"I guess so. Is it cramped inside the egg? Dont you need to stretch?" sylvia said
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 2:36 AM
@bunnyshadow ((I suppose I've toyed with you long enough . . . X3))"I suppose you could call it cramped," he said, and then paused. There was a moment of realization. He seemed to disappear for a moment as he checked in with someone else--the mother dragon? her rider?--before he reappeared, with the same slightly surprised sentiment. "Are you . . . " he began, and then stopped. After a moment, he started again, this time less tentatively. "Are you my rider?"
bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 2:39 AM
@silver_winged THANK GOD! I WAS RIGHT ABOUT TO THROW MY IPOD AT THE WALL 8D~~~Sylvia didnt even hesitate, she immediately said yes. Sylvia hugged the egg tightly.

Anariel allowed herself to be reassured by the voice, finding the distant sense of thrumming that seemed to resonate with the other's voice decidedly intriguing, if not oddly calming. She allowed a small smile to flicker across her face at the other's final words."Dragon," she repeated, then, in a more teasing tone, "I should worry that it suits your liking more than whether the name suits mine."A paused, Anariel allowed herself a moment to stroke the delicate surface softly, feeling the various ridges with interest as she contemplated Dragon's other words."If I may continue with my questions," she began, eyes flicking down briefly to rest on the egg before she looked away, embarrassed that she had tried to read the expression of an eggshell, "do all hatchlings speak as eloquently as you do?"She then hesitated, uncertain if her next words could be taken as too intrusive, "as well, will you simply return tomorrow if you do not meet a rider you feel a bond with?"Briefly, she felt an inexplicable pang of sadness at the thought of her articulate conversation partner unable to do anything but wait for a rider to come along and find him.Almost as an attempt to cheer herself up, Anariel plunged on, hoping inwardly that she was not overwhelming Dragon. "Tell me, what do you wish to do once you hatch?"(( @silver_wingedWheeeeee. :>@sakura2596Good night! 😊 ))
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 2:45 AM
@bunnyshadow ((X3))"W-well, you're going to have to let go!" he protested. "Really, I wouldn't want you to get hurt!" ((Extremely short post preceding extremely long post))

bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 2:51 AM
@silver_winged YUUUUUS. FINALLY!!!! -happy dance- 8DDD~~~"ok!", Sylvia said enthusiastically. She sat down silently staring at the egg. "I'd hate to see your beautiful eggshell in pieces though, but please hatch!" Sylvia couldnt help but smile.
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 2:56 AM
@pastelfeathers"Then Dragon it is," he affirmed, "for all intents and purposes." The inquiry as to his name seemed to trouble him, however, as it lingered in the back of his mind as he gave his next reply. "Please, ask any question you desire," he welcomed, trying to address comments as they were presented."To the best of my knowledge, they do not, though I have observed only three others. There very well might be." His voice showed the slightest pleasure as he was described as "eloquent". He seemed to favor the term."I believe I will return tomorrow if I do not find my rider today," he responded, "although it is ultimately not my decision. Forgive me; you'll have to ask our mother dragon or her rider." After that question, however, he seemed a bit overwhelmed, or perhaps just lost for an answer. "Ah . . . " he began, groping for an acceptable answer. The compulsion to give a timely response, however, seemed to override his desire for a meaningful one. "I do not know, I'm afraid," he murmured. There was genuine apology in his voice. "I cannot say I have ever truly thought about it."

IN YOUR FACE BLACK EGG 8D IM LOVED BY ANOTHER DRAGON 😃@silver_wingedPlease excuse my behavior 😸
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 3:08 AM
@bunnyshadow"Just a moment," the glowing egg assured Sylvia. Suddenly, however, his consciousness disappeared. The sensation of heat evaporated with him, exposing the girl to the cold morning air once again. The light coming from within the egg dimmed.Suddenly, the light resumed, this time pulsing stronger. It glowed orange as before, and then yellow, before turning white. By this time the pulse of light consumed the whole egg; it radiated light and heat, dimming and glowing like the beating of a heart. There was a low fizzling sound that grew louder for a moment before vanishing. The light from within the egg grew brighter, until even the low points of the pulse were blinding. A single tendril of smoke curled off the egg. With a sound like dry wood igniting, the egg vanished, and in its place was a dragon.-c

He had a sharp face, with angled coal-grey eyes and a jaw that narrowed to a beak point. From his jawline sprouted yellow feathers, tipped with orange, that met up with the flaming red crest of feathers that began between his eyes and fanned out to the base of his skull. His limbs were strong and sturdy, with talon-like front paws and long, sharp-clawed back paws. His body was a dusky maroon, or possibly just a reddish brown, with a dusky yellow belly and closely-knit scales. His wings were easily his most remarkable feature. At the tops, they were lined thickly with orange-brown feathers, dense and bright. They gave way to a single line of long contour feathers--yellow like the feathers on his jaw, tipped with orange. From there, the leathery hide of his wings was visible, looking capable of withstanding any heat. He had a long tail, tipped with a fan of orange, yellow and red feathers. He made a "cheep" noise suddenly, like a bird, and ruffled his wings. The poor thing seemed momentarily overwhelmed.

For the record, that last reply was the long one I was referring to. ^^;@celesteI do accept your application, but we're short a few eggs at the moment . . . sorry about that. By tomorrow I'll have more, and you can join the roleplay. (Sorry!)@bunnyshadowEaaasy there. X3
bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 3:13 AM
@spiral @silver_winged OMG 😃~~~~"AWWWWWWW!!!! YOUR SO CUTE!", Sylvia squealed. She rushed up to the now hatched dragon and mushed him in a giant hug. "AWWW!!!"
celeste • 22 January 2012 at 3:14 AM
@silver_wingedSure! ^^
silver_winged • 22 January 2012 at 3:18 AM
@bunnyshadowThe fire dragon squeaked, flailing his front legs. 'Ouch!' his voice resumed. 'You're crushing my wings!'After adjusting himself within her arms, he paused, glancing over a ways toward the dragon and her rider. He then returned his gaze to his rider, grey eyes glowing brightly. 'My name is Solos,' he said, as if it were an introduction.
bunnyshadow • 22 January 2012 at 3:21 AM
@silver_wingedSylvia hugged him even tighter. "OMGEE!! HIHIHIHI!!" Sylvia squeled. "Can i nickname you Fluffeh?" She said smiling(😃)
