The first changes were very noticeable. The cave grew colder and colder, until at last it felt like the middle of a blizzard. Then everything stopped. The cave grew quiet, but seconds later a flash came from the egg and mist crowded around the ground until you can no longer see the egg. You hear a cracking sound and the egg splits appart , a blue head sticking out. The dragon hatchling climber out of the egg and shook a watery substance from her body. She was magnificant, her head was slender, from the snout to the eyes, with two small fangs jutting from her mouth, looking like icicles. Her head ended where two fluffy ears poked out. The bottom of her chin had a spike that looked like a tiny icicle. Her head ended with a long graceful neck, like a swans, spikes trailed down her body, looking like crystal shards sprouting from her skin. They changed colors to depict her mood every few minutes. Her forelimbs were like a cats, but not furry, and instead had long claws. Her back legs were long and looked to be made for running, all of her feet/hands had crystals sticking from them. A long curving tail slid on the floor, the tip of it with a sharp spade that was a deep blue color, just like her belly. Her wings were even more fantastic. They were huge, feathered objects, like any angels. They glittered silver in the darkness and her eyes shone. Her eyes were sky blue with dark flecks in them.

Dragon was absolutely breathtaking.

Anariel was simultaneously torn between the desire to touch the young hatchling and providing him with the space he clearly desired. In the end, she decided to be considerate, as she imagined that Dragon would appreciate having time to gather himself.

She watched with slightly envious eyes as the man, 'Damon' she reminded herself, slowly approached Dragon. At Dragon's reaction to him, she made a soft noise of protest. Though logically she knew that he was more experienced with newly hatched dragons, the indignation she felt failed to ebb.

Anariel paused briefly at the declaration of Dragon's name, it felt...odd to call her conversation partner something other than Dragon, but it was not unpleasant.

She kept the name in mind as she returned to observing Drag-Valklyn as he took a few cautious steps towards her. He made an adorable picture, the awkwardness in his gestures eliciting a feeling of protectiveness within her.

Upon his question, Anariel slowly knelt down so she was more at level with him. "It is interesting," she murmured back, "though I am more curious as to whether or not you like it?"

She paused, unwilling to rush her new friend but also unable to hold back the urge. She extended a hand to Valklyn, not quite touching the hatchling, but close enough that if he chose to, he could easily bump into her hand.

"You may call me Krystou.", The hatchling said,"Or Krysty.", Her dark blue eyes shone in the darkness. She nudged her rider with her nose, breathing air into her palm. She flapped her wings twice, toget the hang of the weight and said "Can we go outside?"

Inola practically trembled with excitement. She scampered all the way onto Silverstarr's head, trying to peer as far forward as possible. 'Those are trees?' she asked, holding out her wings for balance as she wriggled around for the best view.

The young dragon's expression contorted briefly to one of startled confusion. He shrunk backward for a moment, worried what his rider had found fault with. A moment passed as he quickly went through possibilities before suddenly realizing what had elicited her reaction. 'I am all right,' he assured her. 'I was just startled to actually see him, that's all. We were together for around a year; it's quite odd to think that there's a part of him I don't know.' With the reinforced link, it seemed he was more sensitive to her thoughts, and her to his.

The dragon bashfully pulled his shoulders back, thoroughly embarrassed by his apparently cute stature. He chose not to address it, though, and continued to slink forward with his head tilted down.

Upon reaching his rider, Valklyn sat (like a dog), curling his tail around him. He stared with sharp yellow eyes into her face, pondering exactly what he thought about the name. A name was a wonderful thing to have, he realized--now he possessed an identity that was greater than "dragon". A sense of warmth touched him as he further considered the origin of the name. 'I certainly do,' he responded confidently.

Similarly, the young dragon didn't know quite how to behave. Uneasily, he began to knead the dirt in front of him with his claws as he considered what would be appropriate. Biding time, he flared his nostrils, familiarizing himself with Anariel's scent. Though undecided, he tentatively arched his neck, and touched the tip of his nose to her hand.

"Yep!" She said,picking up speed so she could show Ino."we'll be there in just a second too!" She told the dragon as it climbed up to her head to get a better view. She walked on her tippy toes,helping the dragon see better.

Krysty shifted into a more comfortable position. She opened her big blue eyes and looked around. The bright sunshine blinded her and her crystal back turned pink, displaying embaressment for not realizing they were outside. "Ohh.. Its so bright! Can we go get some food?"
