This is @dcmaster here to announce another official contest!

We have all sorts of cool stuff like a travel viewer, a wishlist function, and indexes for all items, travels, and creatures (check out the creature index for original art, suggestion art, and to see hidden stages!)

We have so many great items in Egg Cave, yet sometimes when I see one I think to myself how would I have designed that?

So, for this contest, how would you redesign some of your favorite items?

Here is EggCavity’s indexes list; you could view all of EggCcave’s items including trinket travels and travels if you need an idea.

Note: This is just meant to be an example and does not exemplify an amazing entry and is not a “this is what you should do to win”.

Rules & Restrictions:

• Any type of item can be remade even Travels and Trinket Travels if you choose to do so. Additionally, the choice of item will not boost/reduce your score. Everything will be judged based on the criteria listed below.
• One entry per person, no multiple accounts.
• A link to the art-piece must be submitted through PM to @Eggcavity before/on the due date.
• With your permission, at the end of the contest we would love to display your artwork in this topic and on EggCavity!
• As usual, rude/inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification.

Judging Criteria:

Creativity:
How unique is the redesign of the item? How was the item transformed from its original design?

Presentation:
Is it neatly presented; cleaner lines, less eraser marks, less ghost lines, less color streaks? Does it looked rushed or well put together?

This contest is not judging the skill of the artist but more of the effort and creativity of the artist. Even if you don’t know anything about drawing if you put in some time and thought into the idea then we’re more likely to choose it!

A panel of 5 judges will be elected to help determine the winner.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, August 2nd.

Prizes:
First Place gets 500 CC!
Second place gets 250 CC!
Third place gets 100CC and their choice of 1 creature that’s worth 50 CC or less (according to our guide) from @EggCavity ‘s Cove!

This contest is not claiming that the original designs are bad or need to be fixed at all. I, personally, think that the designs are well designed even if I disagree with some creative choices. Artist work hard on creating these items and their art should be respected.
