"Wait, what?" Gracie looked at Sky with a surprised expression. "We're fighting, then." She said. She took off her pink hoodie-there was a white tank top underneath- and unsheathed her sword. She gt into what she hoped was a good battle position.

Esme ran through the long halls that seemed nothing like the familiar scent of nature. Instead, it reeked of human. She needed to get out. The wolf turned a corner sharply, skidding and tripping on her paws. She turned another corner and smashed through the door into a room where there seemed to be a forest. She sniffed the air. No, this was not the scent of forest. She tried to get back on her paws and stumbled a bit, and faced the humans in a clearing. She curled her lips back and snarled at the humans, unsure if she should back away or attack.

A wolf appeared out of nowhere.
"Hey! Get outta here-" Tawr said.
"Wait, I think that's Esme," Sky called loudly, not sure where Tawr was standing.
"Whatever. I'll deal with her. Keep fighting," He said. He seemed to have kicked Esme out of the world, since the wolf disappeared instantly.

"Wow.'' Gracie whispered. She seemed to be saying that a lot. "Were we fighting, then? We should get started." She said, gripping the sword tighter.

Sky nodded. She began to back away slowly, and then suddenly shot two arrows at the same time, one aimed for her head, the other for Gracie's shins.

Quill watched everyone else train from the back of the room. He was still trying to wrap his head around the idea that he was going to have to fight people. But he knew that if he wanted to return home he was going to have to. He glances at the rack of weapons. Slightly curious, he picks some of them up. He grabs a sword first, it's heavy and feels awkward in his hands. He tries to swing it around, but it just makes his arms sore. He picks up a bow next. He tries to draw it, but lacks the strength. A lance catches his eye. He grabs it. The lance has a good weight to it, almost feeling like it was made for him. "Cool." He whispers.

"You found your weapon?" Tawr said, approaching Quill. "That seems like a good choice for you. Seems to fit,"

Gracie jumped into the air, barely dodging the one aimed for her head and yelped when the ones aimed for her shins jabbed through her shoes. They hit the skin, but didn't puncture it. "So we're doing this the hard way, eh?" She asked when she landed. "Alright." She said. She grinned and ran at Sky, the long sword flashing in the spots of light coming through the leaves overhead.

Quill jumps slightly, he wasn't expecting someone to appear behind him. "Uh, thanks..." He says quietly. "I don't know if I'll be able to fight anyone though."

Cerelynn frowned and looked around before looking cheerful again. "That's right! You don't have another Relic user training with you. We'll put you into weapons training later. Anyway, let's get you started! Just draw on the prisoner's energy and your own. Avera should help you, but I won't be interfering to much." Lark walked towards the prisoner and whispered, "Avera, what do I do?"

Esme snarled as her environment rapidly changed. Another part of her brain, far deep in her mind, processed this and let out a amazed wow. But right now her instincts told her to run. She saw a bunch of metal hanging on a wall(weapons) and other humans standing next to it. They smelled kind of familiar, like the other humans though. Esme glared at the dangerous metal in their hands and slowly approached, fur bristling.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, why is there a wolf here?!?" Quill exclaims. The wolf looked like it could attack at second now.

"Uh, please don't worry about her. You can, uh, play with your lance while I deal with this," Tawr told Quill. "I'm really sorry, but it's probably my only option for now. You'll only be out for 5 or so minutes. I'm not sure how your powers work, but hopefully you'll transform back," he reached for the dart gun and loaded it with tranquilizer darts. Tawr reached into his pocket and pulled out what seemed to be some kind of communicating device. "Uh, it's me, Tawr. I might need a medic and amulet specialist down here, but don't worry, it's nothing serious," He put the device back and then aimed and shot at Esme.

Cerelynn nearly jumped as something buzzed in her pocket. "Hm, never mind. I think we have another task. I know, I know, we haven't even gotten started, but we could try your abilities on whatever Tawr did," she called. Lark rubbed her hands together. She was most definitely losing her nerve. Avera had retired to her amulet until she was "actually truly needed for healing." Cerelynn led her right back into the room she had gotten her weapons from, and opened the door. "What is .... that?" Lark's eyes swung from the gun in Tawr's hand and the amulet around the huge wolf's neck. "What did you do to .... her?"

"I swear it's not as bad as it looks. Esme transformed into a wolf and I believe that she doesn't have full control over her powers yet. She entered this room and seemed to be mad, so I shot a tranquilizer dart at her. But don't worry, she'll be out for only a few more minutes," Tawr explained. "I think we'll have to train her the most. She's going to need her own coach,"

Cerelynn frowned again, but nudged Lark forward. "This is a good chance for you to try calming her down. If you can do that, it'll be an asset if she does this when adventuring." Lark stepped forward and called Avera. "Finally! Oh, and at least you can summon me. That's good. I forgot to teach you about that. So, this wolf-human is tranquilized. What now?"
"They want you, no, us to calm her down and wake her up."
"Well, fine. That's easy. Just imagine a calm and happy scenario and try to materialize that feeling. Preferably a good morning because you're waking her up."
Lark put her palm on Esme's shoulder and thought about her favorite morning and a little bit of golden light wrapped around Esme.

Tawr nodded. "Pretty impressive," he commented on Lark, smiling. "I sense a lot of power from you guys. Not just pure power, but responsibility and bravery with it. A lot better than the last lot,"
"What do you mean, the last lot?" Sky asked.
A grim expression swept over Tawr's face. "A few years ago, when the Plague wasn't as bad, there— you know what, let Kiwi explain it to you later during lunch break. She'll tell you everything you need to know about the Journey and the curse,"

The last thing that Esme felt before collapsing was a sharp lance of pain in her foreleg. She had tried to lunge forward, but felt her legs give. She had been spiraling down into a pit fall of darkness for who knows how long before she felt a golden shine puncture through the pitch black. It was like a ray of sunshine, calm, soothing, and warm. She felt her consciousness returning as her paw and tail twitched. Her eyelids opened and she saw the same room, only with a new scent. She could feel a weight on her shoulder, but somehow she felt okay. She lifted her head to look at the human standing next to her, and gave the hand a lick.

Tawr put the dart gun down. He rubbed his head and smiled apologetically. "Heh, sorry about that. But your powers seem harder to control. Normal Lupis amulets are already pretty hard. Yours is even more powerful, so you're going to need more training,"

Lark returned to the room and called Avera back out. "So, basically same concept, kay?" Cerelynn sat down at a makeshift brewing table and started working on some sort of pale glop. Avera cleared her throat. "So, instead of giving people that feeling, you want to draw that out of the prisoner and bind it around this person's broken arm."
Lark drew some golden string out of the prisoner, who hissed a bit but stayed still. She brought it back to the broken arm and bound it around her cast. It sank into her skin slowly, and Lark helped her take the cast off.

(it will get less painful and quicker over time)
Esme felt a weird feeling that she understood what the elf was saying. She felt the instinct to nod, as if she understood what the words coming out of his mouth were. She felt a urge to change..somehow. Esme didn't know what she wanted to change into though. The stone hanging around her neck started to glow, and she felt pain shoot up her sore foreleg, she could hear her bones cracking, and she stifled a whimper. At last, after what seemed like an eternity, but was actually only around 3 minutes, the human Esme lay down on the floor gasping. "What. Just. Happened!?"

“You, uh, turned into a wolf,” Sky told Esme. “It was pretty cool, though,”

Tawr pulled out his device. “We’re going to need a coach for Esme,” he said, then turned back to Esme. “You’ll have a training instructor in a bit. They’re going to send one that’s specialized in transformation,”

"Hmmm...transformation...cool....wolf," Esme hummed while tapping her chin thoughtfully. She suddenly let out a screech as her memories flooded back in. "Oh my god I literally just almost bit some random guy oh no the damages I don't have any money gahhh I hate wolves I hate wolves do I have to pay I'm hungry." She ended on the last note as her stomach grumbled.

“No, of course you don’t have to pay,” Tawr said, laughing. “You didn’t do any damage anyway,”
He snapped his fingers and a small platter of biscuits and cheeses appeared on the table in front of him. “Help yourself,” Then he turned back to Sky and Gracie, putting the virtual reality screen back up. “Unfortunately, you two still have to battle. Have fun,”

"Mmm!" I say. "Thanks!" I say to Tawr, wherever he was. I take a biscuit and put some cheese on it. I take a bite and wait for Sky to be distracted so I could win the fight.

Tawr pulled Esme out of the VR. "Oh, uh, the fight isn't for you. You're going to have to learn to control your shapeshifting first before you can work with weapons. But once we're done with that lesson, you'll be able to have a virtual fight with everyone else. Your instructor's here, by the way,"
The door opened, behind it a young, pretty girl. She had long blond hair that draped down her back like a golden waterfall and eyes that gleamed with the light of a hundred blue crystals. But when she smiled, she pulled her lips back to reveal a long pair of fangs where her canines would normally be.
"Hey there," she told Esme. "I'm Haiha. Nice to meet you," she held out her hand. "I'm a witch specializing in transformation magic, so I think I should know how to train you,"

Esme's eyes sparkled, "Woah," she gasped, "A real witch! This place is so coooollll!" she squealed as she jumped around. She paused and turned around, "Oh, where are my manners. I'm Esme, Hollywood werewolf reject."

Haiha laughed, and then coughed and turned serious. "Let's go to your training room," she said. She held open the door for Esme and led her to the room.
