When I saw the trailer I wanted to see the movie. Now I kind of want to just read the books. But, at the same time i'm still reading The Mortal Instruments and watching the TV Series. Life is complicated.

Work was fun tonight. The three of us that were there until close were in immature moods. Made it great. Not excited for my morning shift tomorrow though.

What's everyone doing for easter?

Hey guys! 😊 Seems like forever since I last posted here, even though its only been a month. Actually, I would have posted sooner, but stress controls my life now, so I can't

Anyways, how has everyone been? 😊

@fakeworld

It's difficult sometimes, especially if it's something you've never made before- but the feeling you get when you pull it off is incredible. Right now I just want to make dumplings forever because there's a million different types and both of the ones I tried were successful, but in the past I remember being intimidated by things like pastry, and then afterwards wondering what all the fuss was about, because it didn't seem hard to me, it just took a long time. What's weird is I actually like the recipes that take longer because they make me feel more accomplished, but I still have maximum respect for lightning-fast stuff like stir fries, because it's all about the timing and texture and balance of flavours. I think at the end of the day, cooking is very versatile, and it can be whatever you want it to be, tailored to however much time/energy you have. It's great that you're so inspired by books and television- I am too!

Today has been super busy for me, as it happens. I've done two lots of writing, and gotten myself a new recipe for roast broccoli + cauliflower that I'm going to serve with my stuffed peppers later on. I made progress finding a kneading bowl, and saw one online that I really like, which I'm going to get in the next day or so. I'm also preparing for an event I'm helping with tomorrow, which we might actually see some nice weather for!

Have a great Easter weekend everyone! Eat lots of hot cross buns (and choc ofc)!

So we had our Easter event yesterday, and it went pretty well, despite being overcast and windy. I was there helping with the cake and refreshment stall, toasting hot cross buns to order, which were kinda popular, but they ordered way too many trays! I hope some of the staff got to take some home with them, because those things are delicious.

Today, I get to look forward to roast lamb, which is one of my favourites, slow roasted with garlic and rosemary. I cannot describe to you how good this smells. And it's great because there's always some left over, which I normally end up turning into a pilaf, and trying to master my tahdig (crisp rice from the bottom of the pot) - which is A LOT harder to make than it looks. Happy Easter to you all!

My mum just walked into the spare room to see our puppy has chewed the foot off a 65+ year old porcelain doll. :/
It was my nan's when she was a kid and it was in perfect condition with the original clothing and.. :/
The clothing on it is ruined.
It was on the spare bed and our puppy can apparently get up there..
My mum and I are both really sentimental so this is really bad.
At least he didn't get the face. :/

@crazyfeline

Once when I was growing up, we put our dog in my mum's bedroom, and she absolutely destroyed a bunch of photo albums we were keeping there, including ones from my mum's childhood, as well as some of my own. I was absolutely heartbroken, because those things are impossible to replace. I cried, a lot ☚ī¸ I'm really sorry that happened to you- I love them, but dogs really are awful sometimes.

@noah

Oh no! ☚ī¸ to me photo albums hold the most memories so that'd be worse than the doll!
They can be awful. Oh well, its happened, can't change it..

@crazyfeline

Yeah, I think anything that's so significantly tied to memories is a real blow to have taken away from you. It's horrible, but all we can do is try and move past it.

Looks like I'm seeing little mix when they come to Australia! Finally found a friend willing to go me.
Its getting hard to arrange these things since people have work where they can't take a couple of days off.
Haven't even bought tickets yet, but its a plan. :')

@crazyfeline Haven't been going to school lately and kinda sunk into some weird depression hole where I stay home and sleep, play Egg Cave or play MMO/FPS games. x(

This will sound weird because we don't know one another but if you ever need to talk to someone and don't know who, just throw me a message.

I've been doing a ton of writing today, which I've only just finished, but I'm so happy that it's done! I probably slowed myself down by cooking stuff in between, but I had some leftover pastry from a quiche yesterday, so I decided to make some brie tartlets, as well as sorting out tonight's dinner. I'm making poached eggs in a tomato sauce (shakshuka), with stuffed mushrooms, and wilted spinach- I seem to be becoming more and more vegetarian these days!

I have two songs on my iTunes that relate to New York City. The two songs finally played in a row, I have been waiting for this day!

@crazyfeline
Little Mix is coming? Oh I may take a look at tickets as well. My friend enjoys their music a lot but because of uni and work it may be a little difficult to go. Hopefully the tickets aren't to costly either because my friends also want to go to a Yule Ball that's occurring sometime soon. Why does everything have to cost so much?

@bunnyshadow
That reminded me of me when I was 13. School had finished for the year and none of my friends wanted to do anything so I was stuck at home for the two months. At the time Halo demo on the computer was very popular so that was the FPS I was playing. I still despise holidays longer than a month.

@noah
All of those sound delicious! Well there's nothing wrong being vegetarian as long as you try and make sure you have iron etc in your diet!

@mastergemma Oh man. My break starts tomorrow, so I'm excited about that. Have a bunch of work to finish up. It's been a relatively stressful week, had to give a speech this week and had a business meeting + had to write up a contract for a loan. x(

@mastergemma yeah, they're only doing three shows though. Sydney, Melbourne and somewhere else....might have been Adelaide but I don't know as it didn't appeal to me 😊
$90 is the cheapest, I don't think that's too bad since I paid $150 for one direction and that was the cheapest option...the added seats. Managed to get a perfect spot for that one. 😃
Its kind of sad we spend so much on these things too. 😋
what exactly is a yule ball? O.o probably a really stupid question..

@mastergemma Thank you! I'm not actually vegetarian at the moment, though I have been a couple of times before- I just prefer cooking vegetarian food, or things which have very little meat/fish in them. I'm definitely covered, as far as iron goes!

On that note, there's a veggie cookbook I've had my eye on for a while now (not that I don't have a cupboard full of them already), and it's been such a mad week, I might get it as a treat for myself. I also need to decide what I'm going to make for myself tomorrow, and I have a feeling it will probably be Asia-inspired, but if it stays this cold, I might just scrap that idea and make a pie 😋

Today I was on my break when one of the guys asked how old I was. (New bloke I've hardly spoken to or seen around.) I said I was almost 19 and he looked really shocked and said he thought I would have been 15. I was bored on my break so I sent the story to my group chat. One friend said its because I'm short (five foot on the dot) and then another (who works at a bar) said his manager thought I was 16 the other night when I was there with friends and thought that was why I was only asking for juice. I asked for juice because I was driving. xD Basically, today I found out I still like 15-16 and woah. 😱

I also bought little mix tickets. So that's a thing now.
