They all laughed at the name of the fish and Chaya looked remotely disgusted before wishing him farewell. The room quieted for a moment.
"We'll leave at light break? Then rest," he suggested and Mia nodded, wondering if the plan worked for the others.

A few minutes later, Kiro returned, holding his fish by the tail. It thrashed wildly about, gasping for air but strangely not dying.
"I got Karpy some new water for his basket," Kiro explained.

Chaya immediately noticed the fish and Kiro were back. Mia chuckled, poking the squirrel she had caught on the way back. She set it down on the rock beside her and yawned, stretching.
"Long day," she remarked, her eyes heavy.

In no time, Mia had dozed off. Katrina quietly extinguished the fire, and sat down. She started to feel sleepy, and soon the whole room was quiet, except for the sound of Karpy splashing.

Kiro woke up quickly. Kiro put Karpy in his bucket. It looked rather funny just with it's derpy face floating while the rest's thrashing. Kiro ticked him. "He's funny!" he looked over outside. Let's hope there were 0 aliens...

Chaya slapped himself on the forehead, although he was tired, he had to keep watch. He looked outside, knowing the sun would rise in a couple of hours. He looked at the fish and sidled over to it. He poked it with his finger and sneered. Fish were weird. He would eat almost anything but fish. Nope, nada. Slimy, gross. Toasted, gross. Fish in general, meh. He looked out again, watching the shadows play tricks with his eyes.

The sun came in through a window, and Katrina groggily sat up. Kiro was already sitting up, watching Karpy amuse him with tricks. Katrina opened the curtains, lit the fire, and went to get breakfast.

Chaya awoke with a start, the sunlight running down his face. He rubbed his eyelids. He swatted a fly angrily, he'd fallen asleep. Dawn had happened a few hours ago, at least he felt rested.
"We have to get moving quickly," he grumbled, messing up his hair.

Kiro watched as Karpy did a "flip" as he fell out of the bucket. He softly put him back in and went for a nap. He napped near the bucket, so he got wet. He stood on his hind paws and shook off all the water.

Katrina got out a basket of fruit and walked back to the hangout room.
"Breakfast, anybody?"
Most hybrids mumbled and yawned, but nevertheless accepted the fruit. Kiro was busy trying to shove berries into Karpy's mouth.
"Feed him something easier to chew, he doesn't have teeth, after all," Nira remarked after Karpy had choked on his fifth grape.
Kiro picked up a bunch of blueberries. "Hopefully he likes these!}

Chaya snorted.
"Feed him water," he joked and he caught Mia giving him a look. Yeah yeah, his first act of kindness around the fish. He looked outside, squinting against the sunlight. "The clouds are gone and it isn't too humid yet," he observed and Mia nodded gratefully.

Kiro fed Karpy a blueberry. Karpy accepted it and ate it. Kiro ran over to Katrina. "I'm going hunting a bit." He ran off, catching 3 mice and a rabbit. He transformed back into a human and clawed them open. These were nice and uninfected food. He carried them back.

Mia looked at the food Kiro had brought back hungrily. She looked by her rock, oddly, the squirrel had disappeared. She shrugged it off and questioned her mind for a moment, knowing she should be more worried.
"Can I have one?" she asked, slightly hungrily.

Kiro passed Mia a mouse. He laid out the rest of the meat on a rock and gobbled down a mouse. Then he relaxed around. "This is so nice" he thought as he checked outside.

The squirrel mysteriously disappeared, but it turned out that Kiro thought it was part of his kill. He offered some mouse to Mia, who made a face but accepted the meat.
Katrina sat on a log, sharpening her arrows to perfection. Because resources were hard to find, Katrina often reused arrows if she could recover them. Katrina also owned a spear, but didn't like using it because it was taller than she was and incredibly bulky to carry around. She popped a berry in her mouth, and summoned fire at her fingertips. Holding the arrows slightly inside the fire, she turned them slowly as if grilling meat to sharpen and stabilize the edges.
"Wow!" Kiro exclaimed with wide eyes. "How do you summon fire?"
Katrina thought for a minute. She had never actually stopped to ponder why she could, it was a natural talent.
"It's a natural thing," she replied. Kiro nodded with wide eyes, and dropped the fish he was holding.
Katrina rolled her eyes, smiled, and went back to sharpening her arrows. The hybrids had all started talking again, bring up random topics from alien encounters to the if they had ever eaten dirt. Katrina decided not to take part in the dirt conversation. She stuffed her arrows back in her quiver, and extinguished the fire.

Nira and Zamora decided to stay on the lookout as well, in a different view of the shelter. Suddenly, the girl appeared. "Vortexa, what are you doing here?" Zamora said in a low voice, getting out her swords. Vortexa said nothing and threw a ninja star, it caught Nira's arm and it pinned her to a nearby boulder. Another one pinned her other arm. She stared at the blades, they seemed too be moving, shifting gears. Another hooked piece of metal came out and latched against the stone. When Nira tried to pull them out, no use. The two pieces of metal were locked in the stone against each other, making it near impossible to pull out. "Stay back," Zamora said. "Who's this girl anyways?" Nira asked. "Vortexa. She's my number one enemy," Zamora said, slashing her sword out, but Vortexa teleported above her and pinned her to the ground. "Sooo, you fighting with us? That's good." Nira said. "Just don't expect me to bond with you or whatever," Zamora said back, clearly not good with the experience of friendship. "Well, and enemy or our enemy is our friend," Nira said, smiling. Suddenly, Zamora ran off. "Welp, I stand corrected; I guess the enemy of our enemy is well, also an enemy," she said, sighing. But Zamora hadn't gone for notching, Wiggly was with her. "Pink thing," Zamora said to Wiggly, "Fight her while I break Nira free," pointing to Vortexa. Wiggly looked offended, but did as she said. "These blades won't open so easily... looks like we need a key or something," Zamora said. She sent a wave of ice at Vortexa, just barely freezing her so she would stay still. "Now where is it... aha!" Zamora unlocked the blades and gave a pull, and Nira was free. Vortexa teleported away just as the others went to tell the story.

There was a knocking at the door. Katrina looked out of the small window, it was Nira and Zamora. They were covered in leaves and soil.
"What happened?" Katrina asked.
"Vortexa attacked us," Zamora snarked. "That girl is annoying."
"Who's Vortexa?"
Zamora rolled her eyes and tossed her hair back. "She's my number one enemy."
"Great. More enemies," Katrina exclaimed sarcastically. "As if the aliens weren't enough already."
Suddenly, a red laser beam smashed through the window. A loud chattering came from outside. Three aliens were standing outside, holding blasters and trying to break into the house.
"There are aliens outside!" Katrina screamed to the other hybrids. "Stay in!"
She grabbed her spear and impaled the first alien, who exploded with a scream and dropped its blaster. The alien's furious comrades advanced, launching lasers at trees and bushes, setting them on fire. Katrina waved and sent a stream of fire towards the aliens, who were blasted back. Zamora threw her swords with incredible accuracy, pinning an alien to a tree. It dropped it's blaster and shrieked. Two more aliens then dropped from the sky.
"Well, there's more of them," Zamora exclaimed. "Stop them from trying to call other aliens."
The swords flew back to her hand, and the alien disintegrated. Katrina loaded two flaming arrows and launched them at an alien, but they just lodged themselves in the alien's head.
"Aim for the tentacles," Mia whispered in a low voice. "It's damageproof everywhere else." She then threw her sword like a Frisbee, hacking off the tentacles of one alien. The alien flailed on the ground for a split second, and exploded into gray monster dust. Katrina wrinkled her nose.
Chaya, as a snow leopard and Kiro as a cat, pounced on the aliens, shredding their tentacles. More aliens dropped from the sky, chattering in angry voices.

@icesparkle22 when you asked us if being thieves was okay earlier (sorry, i only get on in the mornings sometimes the evenings) well Alex was kinda one to begin with, not a thief but a murderer. just so you know.

Alex woke up to see light filling her cave, "I wonder what's going to happen today" she muttered. She got up and stretched her leg muscles a couple of times before heading out for breakfast. She walked a couple of miles before stopping suddenly wondering if she missed the exit to the path that led to her favorite hunting grounds. She shook her head realizing that it was right in front of her " I can be so stupid some times" she murmured to herself. She cut through a vine with her sword, now she could see it clearly, it was a farm with fields around it were she could see deer grazing.

"wait a second," she said she thought she heard something something unnatural. She could hear it clearly now the jabbering of aliens, "time to take a few down" she growled. She could see the aliens clearly now they were at the side of the house facing her, but instead she decided to creep up on them from behind. She stalked that grass moving as lightly as she could she grabbed her swords on her back and unsheathed them, finally when she was just behind them she growled a low menacing growl, scaring the aliens, and before they could get ready to shoot she killed them each with one swipe of her two mighty swords.

"now I can hunt!" she said happily as she crept up on a deer and cut it's head off with a swipe, she then dragged the deer back to her den, leaving a trail of blood. When she got to her cave she opened the door and dragged the deer over to her rocking chair, she wanted breakfast and she was finally happy she had it.

Jennifer stretched her legs and swung them sitting high in a tree, She loved the feeling of sitting on bark how scratchy it was, and how she could see everything. She lived in an apple tree and she built herself a little squirrel nest in it too, where she was sitting was her favorite place to sit, and she could see everything, She heard a distant battle coming from over the hill. she transformed into a squirrel and hid in her squirrel house. "please don't let the battle come here" she cried in her tail, she was curled up on the floor, too scared to move.

Vortexa teleported back to the old house. She took a few berries a ate them, and then went off to hunt. She caught a fish and roasted it over a fire. She wished she wasn't enemies with Zamora; she always did. But of course she couldn't, it just made her angrier.

Waking up, Nira saw a fire ablaze outside. "Aliens?" She went to take a look. Yep, she thought. Right when I was having a good dream. She sighed and ran outside. Sent sent a couple of vines at them, some of them on fire. It set the aliens it touched on fire. "Cool!" She said, sending more. "Guys, there's too many of them," Zamora said. "We have to lead them away from the shelter," they ran towards the forest, giving them a place to hide, but not for long.

"Mia, come help me," Katrina exclaimed. She handed a length of twine to Mia.
"What do I do with this?" she asked, confused.
"I have a plan. We're going to herd up the aliens, and i'll set the twine on fire. They won't be able to escape, and it makes them an easy target if they're all rounded up," Katrina whispered.
"Ohhh," Mia nodded. she grabbed the twine, the longest piece Katrina had, and ran in opposite directions. The aliens, too busy fighting to notice, were soon trapped inside a large, flammable ring.
"Done?" Mia asked.
Katrina nodded. "Ready, set....GO."
She launched a single flaming arrow, which slid across the twine. A wall of fire rose, trapping the aliens inside. The screeched angrily and fired their ray guns, but the lasers simply joined the flames.
Katrina sent arrow after arrow into the ring of aliens, and Mia and Zamora threw their knives. In a quick five minutes, all the aliens were gone. Katrina extinguished the fire with a snap of her fingers, and wrapped the twine back on the stick (things didn't burn unless she wanted them to).
"That was a strange morning," Kiro remarked. He was still dragging Karpy around by the tail.
"The fact that he's still dragging that fish around makes it stranger," Chaya remarked, and they all laughed.

Kiro dragged Karpy around. He put Karpy in a bucket then went off to hunt more. He caught another fish and carried it too Karpy. He showed it then cooked it. "Sorry!"

Chaya shook his head, wondering why the battle had gone so fast. She shook his head, his black hair flying in different directions. He looked at the collections of ash in front of the house.
"We should go, the aliens will know that we took down some of them," he pointed out, saying it loud enough for everyone to hear. A couple of the mutants nodded and Mia bent down over the ashes and grabbed something. Chaya glanced at her, knowing her should ask her about it later. Or someone else, if they noticed. "We also have to watch out for that....other girl who attacked Zamora and Nira," he mused, shaking out his arms.

Nira glanced around, she was scouting the forest for anything. Aliens, food, shelter, whatever was out there. She caught a deer and headed back. She suddenly heard some grumbling.... aliens. She tried running away but she was hit by a stunning gun. She couldn't move; she called for help. Then a masked figure all dressed in black picked her up and ran away from the aliens just as she blacked out.

Send a search party! and the other half just blatantly said,She's probably hunting, she'll be fine,. She layed down for a moment, knowing something was wrong with her head. She caught Chaya glancing around the room as well.
"Zamora? Nira?" he asked, confused."Where are they?" he asked again.

Jennifer perked her ears up as she heard rustling the bushes in the front of her. She stood completely still, in her squirrel form , hoping not to attract attention. She saw a black figure come out holding a girl, that black one must be one of the aliens she thought quickly, but why was he holding a girl? she also looked unconscious. I should see what is going on! her adventurous side thought, no stay hidden her scared side whispered.

She was about to listen to that tiny whisper in her mind when she thought again, how many times had I seen an alien holding a girl just like me? none! her adventurous side almost screamed. She paced around in her head thinking, her life might depend on this very decision! her adventurous side screamed with excitement you must follow! yet she could hear the whisper that she followed for so long. She sighed in her mind, I have to rescue her! She thought excitedly suddenly overpowering that tiny whisper making it no more for now.

She leaped off her branch, and got on another one following the girl and the alien, finally they got to a strange clearing filled with aliens chattering and bickering in some strange language. When the black figure reached that clearing all was quiet, her heart was pounding so loud she was afraid someone might hear it. Then the same black figured barked some commands to two other aliens, who seemed surprised at first, but then quickly bounded away bringing back a rope. She watched in horror as they tied her up around a stump and waited quietly around the tree waiting for her to wake up.

Chaya strained his ears, wondering if he could smell Nira or Zamora. He looked around the cave with worry and he wondered why Mia seemed so unconcerned. Yet again, he'd have to question her later. He transformed quickly, his nose to the ground, trying to catch either of their scents. He walked around for a moment and the furs on the back of his neck rose, a smell had appeared but...it wasn't Nira's...or a mutants. He looked around with worry, the anticipation rising again. He just hoped nothing would happen....

Nina woke up tied up to a tree. She watched As the masked figure took of its mask, and it turned out to be... vortexa. She was certainly surprised. "Vortexa, is that you?" Nira asked. "And how did you get all these aliens to work for you?" "Easy. Just threaten them and viola. " she said, shrugging. "Now will you let me go?" She complained. "Nope, you're not going anywhere. I'm using you as bait." Uh-oh. What could this be?

Chaya looked at the figures around Nira and he growled, faintly recognizing the girl in the black cloaks. Vortezma? Something like that. He slowly advanced, trying to hear their conversation in case it was a trick. He gritted his teeth and lashed his teeth, aggravated at the wait.
