@frosted The first post states that the CSP/Non-CSP monthlie change won't happen until June. Next month, May, will still be the normal release.
Deleted • 23 April 2013 at 10:44 AM
@orderedchaosoh, I didnt notice that.So would there be 2 monthlies next month or 3 monthlies? 😱
Orderedchaos • 23 April 2013 at 10:51 AM
@frosted Next month will still have 3 CSP monthlies, only because the artists do not have the time to create new artwork for the extra monthlie. June will have 2 CSP monthlies and 2 non-CSP monthlies.

@orderedchaosIs qesque the person who does the CCs? or alkaline00 ? I heard their names mentioned in the blog some months ago.
yukihitsugaya • 23 April 2013 at 10:56 AM
I'm happy with this. My parents won't buy me CC so when I was trying to trade, the "cc only" thing made it really hard. I love the idea of two new cave monthlies! Thank you Ian! 😊
Orderedchaos • 23 April 2013 at 10:59 AM
@frosted There are multiple people who create art for Egg Cave. Those are both people who have done art for us. There are others, not all of them have accounts here.

@orderedchaosThanks for your info.

@orderedchaos okay, thx for answering 😊

Wow O.O I don't come on EC properly for two days and so much happens O.OHowever I do support these ideas. I'm quite sure that they will restore balance and I can't wait to see the cave and CC monthlies to happen in June ^^ Though, I'm just wondering what I'm going to do with the odd amount of CC I'm going to be left with if I make any purchases from the CSP o.O
sharkout • 23 April 2013 at 9:01 PM
I have 175 CC. What can I do with that? xD I can't buy CC, and there is nothing that is lower than 175 CC that I want. I think that CC should be non-tradeable, like you guys are making it, but I think there should be a new section in the CSP where you can put in an amount of EC and get the amount of CC that it is worth. (I think that it is 1mil EC for 10 CC or something like that.)
musicgurl333 • 24 April 2013 at 12:29 AM
I am kind of devastated by this change, actually. ☹️ I just bought a CSP creature with CC that I will eventually need for freezes. I figured that I should have no problem trading for some with my other creatures, but worst case scenario, I can always find someone who would trade me back the 500CC for the creature I bought. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. How will this work for people who need freezes?
ems • 24 April 2013 at 12:43 AM
@sharkout It should be the other way around. If users could get CC for EC... Well, that's most of the site's profit right down the toilet. Besides, since EC has more buying power at the moment, I think you'd rather have more EC.@musicgurl333 They're thinking of making CC items--such as freezes like you mentioned--tradable. ^-^
musicgurl333 • 24 April 2013 at 12:46 AM
@ems Whew! I didn't see that! I feel a lot better about it now. I don't really see how that's so much different from trading CC, but I'll take it. 😊
ems • 24 April 2013 at 12:49 AM
@musicgurl333Yeah, I don't either, and I'm afraid it'll turn back into the CC craze. D: We'll start seeing: "FREEZE OFFERS ONLY" in trades, and those of us who can't buy CC will be stuck in the pit all over again. I'm really glad the CC craze is over... ;u; I couldn't trade for ANYTHING. And when I tried to trade for CC? Nothing. Soooo... Yeah. 😋 I think this is good for EggCave. Should fix the economy.
musicgurl333 • 24 April 2013 at 1:05 AM
@ems I have mixed feelings...I think that it COULD be a good thing. I just wish that 1. We had been given some kind of warning in advance, and 2. They worked out these issues BEFORE they changed the system. It feels like this wasn't quite all the way thought out.I was going to try to send in a ticket to return my recently purchased CSP creature, since I'd rather have the CC for freezes now that I know I can't trade for it anymore. (if that is even possible, which I don't know if it would be) However now I think I might wait it out and see what they come up with. Thankfully I do have some CC left over, and most of the creatures I want to freeze won't be evolving anytime soon.
ems • 24 April 2013 at 1:56 AM
@musicgurl333 Well, I don't think they had a lot of time to put lots of thought into it. If you ask me, the fixed this is the nick of time. As I posted earlier, all trades I was even remotely interested in were "CC ONLY" trades the day this was implemented. I will also quote myself. XD"Users wanted CC, but didn't want to trade it. So even with CC trading, I was having an EXTREMELY hard time getting a hold of it. :/ I actually had stopped trading for the longest time--gave up on my dream cove, really--because I couldn't find someone trading what I wanted for creatures or EC. Just CC."So the whole EggCave economy was pretty much collapsing. Or at least, the whole trading system was. Besides, if I can't get my dream creatures without paying a ton of REAL MONEY, then it's really not worth it for me. And I'm not even allowed to buy CC anyways, so even if I wanted to buy it to get my dreamies, I couldn't.If I could've underlined "real money" about 42 times, I would've. XD
boxofcrayons • 24 April 2013 at 2:00 AM
@musicgurl333 There is another option. It can be a little on the risky side, but it worked quite well before the introduction of CC gifting. Basically lets say I have 250 CC and you agree to trade me a colatay (or whatever) in return for me freezing a pet of yours. You trade me the pet in need of freezing, I send you a junkie. I freeze the pet and send it back to you and you send me the colatay. There is always the danger of scammers, but if you make sure it is a reputable user, it is no less dangerous than CC trading.
musicgurl333 • 24 April 2013 at 2:16 AM
@boxofcrayons This is true. That's how I did it before CC gifting/trading, but I found it to be a LOT more difficult. My biggest problem with that is that you have to have the creature(s) that you want frozen ready at the time of the trade. It makes everything a lot more complicated, and I don't trust even the most reliable users to "owe me" CC because you never know if they'll quit unexpectedly, or accidentally trade it away, or forget, or not be on and ready to trade when you need it, etc.BUT I went back and read some more of the comments in the thread, and there's been talk of making freezes (and the other things like that) tradable inventory items. That would solve that problem, and I am REALLY hoping that is implemented. (although again, I don't know how that is going to be much different than CC trading...but at least people won't be able to trade small amounts of CC)
boxofcrayons • 24 April 2013 at 2:19 AM
@musicgurl333 Yeah, it's still very much up in the air. I have to admit though, I am 100% in favour of the change. I think it will balance out the markets. It was getting sort of ridiculous to even try and trade without CC anymore. However, only time can tell how this will work out!
gabrieltaft • 24 April 2013 at 3:43 AM
@Ian this is great news! Really looking forward to June
Deleted • 24 April 2013 at 6:02 AM
This is a really bad move. CC purchases will probably go down a lot, which means EggCave will have less money. The only real need that people will have for CC will be freezes, and some monthlies. A lot of people bought high amounts of CC for multiple high-value retired CSP Pets, and that won't happen anymore. I know that I won't be coming back on here after hearing about this. It was fun while it lasted, but EggCave has changed too much for the worse for me to spend any more time here.

@jrock2013I agree to you. EC isnt a good place enough. Before it was good enough, but currently I feel like quitting because this new updates just have ruined EC in my views.
elluwah • 24 April 2013 at 6:45 AM
It's really quite surprising how much this splits the community. I, personally, feel that this gives me more reason to come BACK to Egg Cave. I've taken quite a bit of time off and only come on to keep my cove alive and growing, but after hearing that the CC issues are being sorted out I feel so much more comfortable being back on the website again. To all those who feel like leaving because of this, really, you should just give it a chance before you make any rash decisions. If it doesn't work out for you then no one will hold it against you, but try it out for a bit before ultimately deciding.

CC was mainly bought to buy old creatures, especially creatures from 2010, to be traded for large amounts of CC. This would reduce CC purchases, and tremendously increase the value of the old creatures. I could place a bet that the Tine, in 1st stage would be worth about 40 - 50k in pure CC by the end of this year. The old creatures would be more harder to obtain, people would quit, people would go on long hiatuses with them. They would rather keep them than trading it for monthlies.Like as if I liked the Biwo in January and wanted one, and only had a last stage Macbot for trade, then I would have to trade the Macbot for that Biwo + something else, which was mainly a underoffer. If I waited a while, and seen that I like the Tarsier from Feb, Grizzard from March and Narlock from April, and by that time I reached the liking for the Narlock, Biwos had a value of 2k pure CC. Would I be mad rather than to trade it for the Biwo and a less amount of CC in form of creatures in the future or the Biwo, and if this CC gifting was introduced back, then I could have got CC to buy the creatures which I like according to my own choice, and I hadnt to suffer much losses.I would have to trade my super rare creatures to have CC creatures, and that too for a low value. To all those who feel like leaving because of this, really, you should just ignore this useless and futile update, and mourn over the loss of the chance to obtain CC. Like what Im doing now. I regret joining EC in the start, I've been too much addicted to EC. -.- Thanks, this worthless update would decrease the time wasted in EC.

@jaguar @frosted @rushingwaterYou guys have said many times that this change is motivated by profit. It's not. @elluwah brought up a great point earlier (allow me to kindly steal!). In order for CaveCash to physically exist, somebody had to buy it to begin with. Any CaveCash you've ever traded for without buying it yourself was bought by somebody else.By limiting under-the-table currency trading, the demand for random CaveCash is going to go down. This will not make more money for the site. And if you insist that it's still motivated by profit, please explain the paradox you claim: how does bolstering Egg Coins' value (relative to CaveCash) increase the demand for CaveCash?I have noticed that the three of you all joined Egg Cave at some time in 2012, shortly after CaveCash gifting came into play. I have noticed that our "newer" players (<1.5 years playing), like you, are generally less accepting of these changes. In contrast, our older players (playing before CC gifting was around), are supportive of these changes. So, I'll say this to those of you who have been playing <1.5 years: you have only ever known the free markets with CaveCash trading present, so you're accustomed to thinking that CaveCash is the "gold standard." The challenge: stick around to discover what Egg Cave's free markets were like back in the glory days. Trading, in my opinion, is about to get way more fun. Just wait and see.* * * * *As a side note, I should mention that I have a page in my notebook titled "Egg Cave Economic Overhaul." The staff and I are always discussing new ideas to bring about more fun to the gameplay and boost the Egg Cave economy. All of the ideas you may have heard about throughout this topic are definitely in the "idea stages," so no promises. 😋 What I can promise you is that we are always striving to make Egg Cave more fun.Long live Egg Cave.
bluebelle • 24 April 2013 at 1:17 PM
@IanI think a good idea would be to remove all the trades from the TC. There are ALOT of trades that are still saying CC ONLY!I also think this will be good for EC, honestly the worth of EC has drastically decreased. I saw a creature going for 15milliuon EC. Who has that much? I really hope that EC can restore the trading balance.Another thing is that you should make a blog post, alot of users don't have ANY idea that CC can no longer be gifted and would only be right if they were notified.
Orderedchaos • 24 April 2013 at 1:22 PM
@bluebelle I've actually already begun combing through the TC and am removing any trades that I see ask only for CC. It'll probably take a while before I get them all.
bluebelle • 24 April 2013 at 1:25 PM
@orderedchaosAwesome. Thanks.
Ian • 24 April 2013 at 1:25 PM
@bluebelle Thanks for making us aware of the outstanding CaveCash only trades. I agree that the larger community (those who don't read these topics 😋) should be notified in some way about these changes. With regards to crazy trades at 15 million EC, the markets are readjusting themselves. 😊 Trade, barter, give your best offer, and have fun with it. I did a bit of digging myself about 15m EC... I should mention that only one user on Egg Cave physically has 15 million EC.😋
3_love_for_death_3 • 24 April 2013 at 2:47 PM
@IanI suppose its reasonable that this has to be done to stop scammers, but myself I am quite upset as i recently 'invested' you may say in a Elkikorn with some spare CC to wait until it got a bit more valuable and then to sell it off again for more CC. Its quite annoying aswell for those of us who have no way to purchase CC. I love that there will now be 4 monthlies, though it could make it so there are less rare critters. Maybe one day in the future you will be able to add in a way to sercurly trade CC; and if so I look forward to it. But though I dont understand why you cant just trade it in a lot like EC as this would hep a lot.
