@Ian

I'm not sure I agree with what you are trying to do because what if we don't want to buy cave creatures and they want to be nice and give CaveCash to others. I'm not so sure about it, but I guess it'll possibly help stop scamming.

i LOVE this decision solely because it was getting ridiculous having the trade center full of CAVE eggs selling for CC. I have always felt that was wrong and have stated this several times since the beginning of 'gifting'. I have enjoyed gifting, though, when some one really needed it.

PAYING cash for Free Eggs was so unfair; especially to those who cannot purchase cash shop eggs (children and adults alike). I agree with @IAN that this will level out the playing field once again. This will encourage newbies to stick with it and bring back fair trading.

Thank you Egg Cave staff for making this decision.

@whitefall
I don't think there will be less trading.
Before CC was even in existence, there was a lot of trading.
Why would that change?

@rileytibbles_side
Well, CC wasn't meant to be used outside of the Cash Shop Park.
The Trading Center was meant to trade creatures for creatures. Not CC for creatures.

@pipkitten
I'm sorry to hear that it takes a few days for it to be manually approved.
But this is an over-all good thing for the entire whole of EggCave.
Maybe there will be something implemented where you can exchange amounts of CC lower than 100 for something else, like EC.

@pebblestar-nightclan
You won't be able to trade CC at all.
As I have said, CC was not meant to be traded/used outside of the CSP [example; buying travels for CC]
You always have LE creatures to trade that were available through the cave.
The new Cave Monthlies will be one of these thing that will help you once it is in place.

@phoebesoldi
If you don't want to buy cave creatures, then just don't buy them.
^^
It's just suppose to be an added feature to include everyone in Monthly creatures.

Many pros and cons to this. But I do like that the team is trying to look out for everyone and keep the game more balanced and fair while still getting the site money to run on.
So thank you staff.

@shelby

Recently, there has been a lot of EC & CC trading, as well as travels & CC. 😸

@whitefall
I know I saw.
😃
I think the staff just wants to make sure everything is more fair for everyone.
I wasn't meaning that people can't continue to trade travels and EC.
Sorry if it came across that way.

I'm just upset because I cannot buy CC. Therefore, I will never be able to freeze a creature I trade for unless someone freezes it for me, which increases the chances of scamming.

I'm glad it'll inflate the value of EC though...

@pebblestar-nightclan - GIFTing CC was supposed to be just that. A Gift. It was not created to start trading wars. I am an adult and am able to purchase cc when my budget allows it. I enjoyed having a contest to give it away or gift it to a friend in need. I, however, did not like seeing all these cave creatures in the trade center for CC. Unfair to everyone.

I love the idea of cave eggs, too, that will be monthlies. Awesome. Now, give us something to do with 50 cc lol

@glados
I'm sure the staff has taken this into consideration and will try to do something about it.
Though I can't be certain.
I know they want everything to be fair to everyone.

@glados We are looking into ways to reduces scamming with freezes. We've tossed around a couple ideas, one of which is making CC items (freezes, the stones) tradeable.

I'm excited for the cave creatures though.. I guess lol...

@shelby
It's not fair, I can't buy CC at all. ):
EC will counter it, I guess, but I don't have time to be collecting a lot, not anymore. xD;

EDIT; @orderedchaos Well that's good! O: I was hoping you guys hadn't yet forgotten that idea.

I think this is good. I'm not sure what to do with some extra 50CC, but we'll survive without it.

@shelby
I know, I understand. It just won't be as easy to trade as before considering most of my trades were based off of CC. ^^;

@novrain62
I know, but CC obviously wasn't used just for gifting. People used it to trade, and it -- mostly, anyway -- worked well for a while. And, yes, maybe you can purchase CC, but some others can't. I have the privelage of being able to purchase my own, unlike others. Besides, the main thing that I, personally, am upset with, is the fact that I will not be able to trade CC for creatures like I planned.

I hated the fact that CC was used for trading, not gifting. I feared trading due to the fact that every trade, it seemed, wanted CC of large amounts.

I also love the idea of monthly cave pets, gives those a chance at LE's without having to pay or trade. 😊

So I like everything on your post @ian, I have no problem with it really.

@phoebesoldi
It's all still a work in progress. As you have stated, some users are nice enough to give CaveCash away. After all, this was the entire purpose of the Gifting mechanic to begin with. Unfortunately, there was a lack of foresight when this feature went live a while back on the website. Instead of being used for Gifting, this feature became the front-and-center hub for Trading instead. CaveCash should only apply to the creatures sold in the Cash Shop Park, definitely not an Onny or Doovoo.
CaveCash should have never entered the economy, at least, not the way it did up until now.

This decision ultimately required some deep thought to be put into it, but we believe that it is in Egg Cave's best interest to place a cap on the CaveCash dominance and level the website on a more equal playing field between CSP supporters and non-supporters.

Basically, Egg Cave is expected to benefit from the segregation of CaveCash and Egg Coins in the grand scheme of things.
If you have any further suggestions or questions, feel free to continue posting them in this thread (or send in a Ticket if you're more comfortable).

I agree with @glados . He is right because I was thinking about buying some CC and now I can't. >☚ī¸

This change is a major drawback for those who have odd amounts of CC on hand and those who owe CC.

I do like that now there will be cave monthlies as well as CC monthlies, though. This change is much welcomed.

As with every major decision, there are always pros and cons to it. In this case, the pros are having cave monthlies and CSP monthlies and the cons are the tool to gift CC to others. Although it may help balance out the economy and give newer users a little leverage, I feel that there should be a way to acquire CC without using real money.

Without this gifting CC option, users such as I may have no chance of getting any at all. For example, some people's parents do not wish their children to spend neither money-nor time- on pixels, therefore, not letting their children spending money online.

In addition, many people have due debts of CC or odd numbers of CC as of right now. It is unfair of those users who were waiting for CC to suddenly be unable to acquire it. There should be an event, or an extension of the ability, to clean the odd ends up.

Personally, I lean towards the disapproving side of this decision. This CC gifting has been destroying a lot of people's chances, true, but it has also proved beneficial to users who want to resurrect that one creature, or wanted to send a nice gift.

If there was a method where users can acquire the CSP items through EC, or earning CC without using real money, while maintaining a balance of it so that users won't ruin the economy to that method, then that would make a good compromise. There is a possibility that would be abused too, but it could turn out well.

Just my two cents.

So I guess that I have to start trading my precious creatures if I want something else. Also, my 25k CC in hand, is kinda useless. It would finish within 2 years, of stocks of monthlies.

Now, we would have to trade 500CC in parts through the ways of monthlies. -_- -_- -_-

@orderedchaos
Would freezes be in the TC or inventory? And made tradeable, I hope that is soon, because if they are items, we could use them anytime needed, I would just keep around 10 freezes for an emergency xDD

The only way to get EC for Tims, is for feeding [which takes a lot of time, but I dont have any time thanks to school work, RL] or I would have to trade FREEZES, STARS etc 😃

[A question for @orderedchaos : Would the Resurrection Stone made tradeable? 😱 ]

@Ian I personally dislike this idea as it would create an inevitable impact on the economy. It would give higher value to EC, and CC unobtainable. But due to the creatures being tradeable, and tradeable CSP items.

I guess we should also put freezes refundable. Like if we accidentaly bought a two or three more, we could give them back at the CSP for 250CC each [original price]

xD

I'll go with this now.

@leafpelt

Perhaps user unable to purchase CC should consider trading for them like Ian intended. I recall managing to do this when the CSP first came out. Although it will be an uphill battle for some, it is still most certainly possible with effort.

And for those who owe CC, they should consider repaying their debt in creatures?

Back before "Gifting" - people were generous (including myself) about giving CS Creatures as gifts, say around Christmas, or birthdays. I am sure this will remain the case. Trading will become more fair - just as before. EC will be of value again and you will have to actually feed creatures to earn it - instead of hoping for CC. That is the whole point of the game isn't it? I feed your creatures, you feed mine (?). I and others have gifted freezes in the past, too. There will be contests to win those kind of things also, I'm sure. I like sponsoring contests myself, when I can afford to do so. All good things come in good time and with effort. Feeding is the key!! Feeding is what makes Egg Cave go 'round.

@icymuffin

True, but what about people who need resurrection stones? Or Gender changes? You can send the creature over for changes, but resurrection stones are on an account basis.

Ah, but now they have the excuse of, "I can't because there's no possible way anymore." Not all users want monthlies. *pokes point above*

As orderedchaos posted earlier, they are thinking about making those actual items, so it should not be as much of a problem then?

Perhaps to fix the issue with freezes, the potions and stones could be actual items that can be traded?

Never mind, posted above.^^

Resurrection stones could be purchased with EC I'd guess, just like a Calla or a travel. That would be nice. I think EC should become a stronger 'currency' with more purchase power. Giving that extra incentive to FEED. ❤ī¸

And ... what about the Magic Shop? It is not opened yet, but maybe it could be? There you could use the EC to purchase those kind of changes.

That would be fun
